Benny was professionally groomed for the first time today. I asked the groomer when she thought he should be groomed to get used to the clippers and dryer, and she said she could do him before she left today. He is so fluffy and handsome now! He did really well!
Part of the Canine Good Citizen test (required to become a therapy dog) is letting a stranger groom your dog without them objecting or fussing.
Looking at Benny makes me wish I’d known Tobey as a puppy. Obviously that was impossible since he was born in another state 2 years before I even lived in a house much less had met Lisa (who was the one who found him).
Also, Lisa would probably never allow me to get a puppy because of the work involved in raising one. Even so, I look at this little guy and get pangs.
I am so glad to be sharing his puppyhood with him. It is a lot of work, but a huge help that he can come to work with me.
Adopting an older dog is such a nobel and selfless thing to do. Tobey couldn’t have better parents! I would have loved to adopt an older golden in need, but China would not have accepted one into our home. One day in the future I will…
We were fortunate that Tobey accepted Tallulah so easily. We were frankly quite worried that he wouldn’t take to her because he’s extremely territorial (something I actually would like to talk to you about regarding finding a behaviorist to see if we can do anything about that) but he obviously didn’t know who he was dealing with.
Tallulah recently got a large pink pig about twice the size of her head btw. We call him “Hoggy” and she carrys him almost everywhere now. I’ll try and get some pictures.
You should take pictures of her in her pig costume with her pig!
We had a behaviorist come over to our house when we were in the worst of it with India. (http://www.greatfallsdogtraining.com/) I was kinda so-so about him, but mostly because her was so alarmed by India’s behavior. She was pretty much beyond help, unfortunately. But, he is super knowledgeable, and brought a huge pad of paper to give a presentation on dog behavior before going into our case.
Aweeee… Benny is so cute and handsome! =)
soooooooooooooooooooooooooo CUTE!!!!

I think that Benny might seriously be the cutest puppy ever. What a handsome boy!
