Benny has an older girlfriend – 6 month old Skylar. She likes to steal his toys and stand on top of him eating his face. He likes to sniff her lady business. She isn’t spayed…

Benny has started coming to work with me on Tuesdays and Thursdays, since Danny almost always has to go in to the data centerand Benny can’t be crated for more than a few hours at a time. It gives China a puppy break, and gives Benny time to play with other active dogs.

Thursdays I have to drive to the Maryland location in the morning for a management meeting. Last time, Benny was doing laps around the conference table and trying to eat all the chairs, so I left him up at the front desk with an employee I really like and trust. She said that once he realized I wasn’t coming right back, he settled in and stopped whining.

On the way from MD to my Virginia location, I wanted to stop at Starbucks for an iced soy chai latte and a veggie sandwich for lunch. Benny has figured out how to climb over the seats in my station wagon, so I didn’t trust leaving him there. He is still small enough to carry (13.6 lbs!) in one arm, so I grabbed my check card and the puppy and went into Starbucks. I only made it 5 feet into the place before being surrounded by people in business suits on their lunch breaks all wanting to pet Benny and ask about him. He loved all the attention and was very good about not trying to get down. None of the employees complained about me having a dog in there (though, I carried him the whole time) – the cashier even gave him a head scratch.

When we got to the doggy daycare, there was a gift bag with hearts on in on my desk. The tag said: “For: Stephanie, From: Shadow Kim, To welcome your new golden puppy.” Shadow is my most favorite golden here at doggy daycare. I loooove him! It is so sweet of his mommy to remember I was getting Benny. I keep missing her because she comes on Wednesdays. Hopefully, I will see her next week to give her a thank you note.

Time to get back to work!
