Mm, cake!

So, this morning I was planning to write that since I finally have a day in the office to catch up on things, that I was a little less stressed. But the stress just seems to seek me out. *Deep, cleansing breaths*1 It will be okay. And, I’ll just leave it at that.

This morning, the Maryland location of our doggy daycare was featured on Fox 5 news. I missed half of the segments because Danny mixed up the dates when he set Tivo to record it for me. Basically, what they did was send a guy2 to “work” in the doggy daycare for the morning.

My LiveJournal friends, tommx and lkell, have been customers of that doggy daycare location since it opened3. They have two sweet dogs, Tobey and Tallulah, who are well known there. Tommx happened to message me yesterday morning and I asked if he would be interested in bringing the kids in for daycare during the filming. He was, so they got it all worked out so they could be filmed arriving for a day of daycare4.

My favorite segment, of the ones I’ve seen so far, was the doggie birthday party. I know I’ve mentioned here before that I often host them at the location I work at. The party this morning was for Tobey and Kennedy, who both just had their birthdays, but hadn’t had parties yet. Tallulah stole the show5. She could seriously be a stunt double for a vacuum cleaner. Too freaking cute!

Would you have a birthday party for your dog?

1. This is something that one of our customers says to her two terriers when they are over-excited about arriving at daycare.

The weatherman, I think.

3. I got to do Tobey and Tallulah’s evaluations!

4. I missed that segment. πŸ™

5. And much of the cake.

6. More videos…

  1. T sent me this this afternoon. HILARIOUS! The other segments are up on wttg.com … except they did not post drop off … but the PIG Lula and B-day boy Tobey were awesome!! Thanks for letting us know and thanks for the invite … and the Youtube post.

Can you send us info on how you post something up there? I tivo’d and am hoping it caught the drop off segment so I can post that as well.

    • I don’t know the proper way to do it, but I just video taped my tv screen with my digital camera then grabbed the movie it took off my camera card.

  2. We’re considering entering Tallulah in speed eating competitions for dogs. I think we have a world champion here. She seemed to have a little trouble inhaling the cake as fast as she normally does, probably because the peanut butter got caught on the roof of her mouth. πŸ™‚

When describing her eating habits, I generally reference the end of Poltergeist where the entire house is pulled into some kind of vortex.
