stephanie is: kinda worn out kinda worn out…
I am working from home once again today. When my boss emailed me this morning, she let me know that flowers had arrived for me yesterday at work. No one had called me – they had just set them on my desk. Today they started disassembling my desk, so the foreman brought them up front. My boss found out about them when she called to check on things.

So around 11 am I drove out to work to get them. They were pretty red, red/yellow, and white tulips in a vase. The note said, “Stephanie, Sorry I couldn’t be here to spend Valentine’s day with you. I love you and I hope you have a wonderful day! Dan”. Danny text messaged me that there were supposed to be chocolates, but I asked someone who was there when the flowers were delivered and there weren’t any. I’m sure valentine’s day is super crazy for the poor delivery person. I don’t usually get deliveries that day.

I took a look at the office while I was there. They were in the process of ripping up the old glued-down carpet. My desk was in a million pieces under a tarp in another room. I was glad I took my computer home. Apparently they will be painting then putting down the new carpet. So I am just stuck working from home till things are more bearable there.

When I got home, I took a few pictures of my pretty flowers. They looked so perfect on my new desk that I took some pictures of that too. I have a bunch of pictures to take of the furniture we got over the summer. Once I’ve taken them all and labeled everything, I will add them to the house tour on my site. The weekend before last, I asked Danny if we could go to Ikea. I really hated the lack of under desk storage that came with our pretty new desks. I had my sewing stuff in an ugly plastic drawer unit. My yarn was in two big baskets that the animals knocked over nearly every day. I had one cheap draw unit that didn’t quite match. And I was ready to be rid of the old Ikea desktop drawer units that I had had for 6 years and were caked in layers of black paint.

I picked out something from my Ikea catalog that I thought would work. I had to adjust slightly to pick from what they had in stock, but I am so happy with how things turned out. I really feel so flustered when my desk is unorganized. Everything feels right now. The one drawer unit I had from before got moved off to the corner. I filled it with all my sewing stuff and put my cam computer’s monitor on top of it. It had been on the floor. I peeled off all the old stickers from the cam computer so it didn’t look so junky. The new drawer units were about 7″ shorter than my desk, so I got baskets for more storage on top of them. I got drawer organizers and put all the things from those awful black drawers into them. The space that freed up on my desk top was filled with a simple shelf that matched my desk perfectly and some more baskets for underneath. I got rid of the ugly $5 black plastic paperwork holders and replaced them with silver mesh ones. I love my work space now!

And now, back to work. I should eat lunch, but I am currently uninspired. Would anyone like to go on a dinner date with me tonight? I have a feeling I will not be back in the office yet tomorrow, so I don’t have to turn into a pumpkin at 9 pm tonight. Just email or message me.
