we took china to the vet today. poor thing always has problems with one of her ears despite me cleaning them regularly. this time she has a yeast infection in it, ow. so i have to put drops in it 2 timws a day for 3 weeks. she’s gonna looooove me.

while i was there i get an employment application from our vet so i can apply for any vet tech/assistant openings that come up. the last page of the application is a spelling and grammer test at about a 5th grade level.

The building is entirely _____ tall.

to     too     two

i can understand the need for basic english skills since reception and tech positions enter in a lot of reports, but have they really had such a problem that they need to test you on grade school skills on your application. now that i think about it, in our area you probably do. just go to the dmv and watch as they let everyone take driving exams in other languages dispite the fact they won’t be able to read the street signs once on the road.

after the vet we walked over to the pet store. i am watching a friends cats and fish for a couple weeks and she needed me to pick up vacation fish food. i will bring it by her house tomorrow.

just now the neighborhood cat gang was out back fighting. i was sorting laundry and heard cats yowling. i did a quick head count but my cats were sacked out around me. i looked out back to see 5 cats – 2 fighting on our fence and 3 watching from the neighbor’s deck. i always see a lot of cats around here at night in the summer. some are missing tails and ears. i wonder where they go when there is 3 feet of snow…?
