stephanie is: working working…
what the heck is this?? i’ve had one on my bikini line for about a year. now a couple weeks ago i got one on my forhead. and this week i noticed one appearing on my cheek. i think i used to have one on a finger for years but i can’t find it anymore. that one was a bit raised. i can’t find anything online that matches this.

it is a small bright blood red dot. no itch or pain. no redness around it. not really raised that i can tell.

make them go away! what is this?

  1. if it’s like a pinpoint, i get those on my chest. i think they’re just like burst capillaries, because i can lance it with a needle and they go away.

    • hm so i sterilzed a pin and poked the spot. much blood came out. i felt like i was in “the 5th element” when blood comes out of your forhead cause evil is talking to you. i can’t tell if it has helped at all cause it is still bleeding a bit.

does it normally go away imeadatly after you poke it?

      • yep, that’s what they are. i get them on my cheeks, nose and hands. although, i have never poked at them with anything. they seem to go away and then come back. i wanted to get them lazered off but, it costs a lot.

      • Genetic Inheritance

You may wish to as your parents.

I have a few in various sizes (mostly similar to what you have). I inhereted them from my father. The fact that they must be zapped by a doctor is correct. They can be a single red dot all the way up to the size of a blister…

I may be mistaken on this, but for some reason it seems to me that every time you make them bleed they seem to get a little bigger… again that just may be my imagination.

Nothing to be concerned about except cosmetically. 🙂

  2. i had one of those on the back of one of my hands, and one on my finger, for years. i remember back during high school looking at the one on the back of my hand and wondering what it was/was from. it was there for literally years.

then they both just :poof: — went away.

i still have no idea what they were or why they lasted so long. i haven’t had one now for a long time.

  3. my dad has little red spots/bumps kinda like that. i think it’s just a skin condition. hopefully nothing serious. when you get some money/health insurance again, go see a dermatologist.

  4. I was thinking maybe…..

it was just connected to fair skinned people because i have them on my chest, stomach, upper legs, and on my upper arms. There blood red too. Iam blond and blue-eyed like you so I thought that might be why…They never bother me…there just so noticeable.

    • Re: I was thinking maybe…..

I was just going to say the same thing. I have a couple right now, one of them is raised, but usually they just look like a bright red freckle. I’m also blonde and blue. Will you post back if lancing them helps? thanks. =)

      • Re: I was thinking maybe…..

Ive nevered had one lanced…they used to bother me because of the way they look…iam at the point in my life where I just don’t give a damn anymore…there just a part of me and I guess they will be till I die…not anytime some I hope…:o)

  5. Relax, you’re normal

They’re called cherry angiomas. Just about everyone gets them with age (particularly caucasians), in varying increments and sizes. Some come and go away, some stay indefinitely. They’re benign and more or less mean absolutely nothing.
You’re perfectly normal. I don’t, however, think that scratching them or lancing them is a particularly good idea, as they are prone to profuse bleeding. Any dermatologist will be able to either cut them off at the surface or freeze them, although there is no guarantee that they won’t return. This is purely cosmetic, and probably not covered in your health insurance.
