stephanie is: groggy groggy…

so i am finally feeling better… i just need lots of sleep still (i slept 10 hours last night). one sucky side effect of being in bed all day sick was that i now fall asleep around sunrise and wake up at 4pm. gak! i need to try to go to bed earlier tonight. even though i’ll prolly just lay there.

yesterday i started to feel better mid-day, but i stayed in bed till evening to be sure my body got rested. after i had been upright for a while, danny had me get dressed and his brother took us out to dinner at our favorite chinese food buffet. buffets are our friends. our server was a girl about our age who spoke very little english. she came over with a thick roll of paper and said something we couldn’t understand – called it something starting with a “t”. luckily i always hear things wrong so i figured out after a second that she meant “calendar” and she said “oh, yes, calendar”. she unrolled it – it was like 4 feet long with huge photos of exotic fruits. i just kept nodding and smiling cause i didn’t know why she was showing it to me and the fortune i had just got in my cookie said “smile more and see what happens”. i was waiting for her to say how much it cost, but she just set it on the table and started to leave so we said thank you. so now i have a ginormous 2002 charlie chang’s calendar for our kitchen. november has a photo of the one we always go to. i didn’t see anyone else getting one – perhaps cause we go there so much? ou can’t go wrong when they keep sending $5 off coupons in the mail…

so the food did me good and i really only had a headache and occational dizziness. we were bored but having trouble thinking of something cheap to do. we dropped mark off at his apartment and headed home but we just drove right past it. we just kept driving and then we were in springfield, so we stopped by ivans house. we decided that we should go to cosmic bowling in alexandria. we got there and they said it was an hour wait, so we put our name on the list. they told us the closest atm was in a bank down the street so we walked there and i got $20 out of my paypal for the night. that bank happened to be the one behind the mcdonalds that was visible from out old apartment complex, so we stopped for french fries. i hadn’t had fast food fries in a long time. we make freezer fries to fight off the cravings. we walked back to the bowling alley after taking no more than 20 minutes. they had already scratched our name off the list and there were 10 new names on it. doh! so we went to the other cosmic bowling in alexandria. we stood there waiting and waiting. the guy kept saying “oh three more minutes” finally after 45 minutes (and right before i was just gonna go home and forget about it) we got a lane.

i can’t bowl. i’ve accepted this. i broke three arm bones when i was ten and my wrists never really got biger or much stronger, so stuff like bowling and kartwheels is tough for me. so i bowl granny style, hehe. i have my right hand in the holes of the ball (as light as i can find), and left hand around the wrist of my right, and i swing the ball between my legs and try to let go straight down the lane. my average bowling score is 60 but i think i got 90 once.

this time i got a spare on the first frame! i did so so for a few rounds then missed out on a spare by one pin. i’m not supposed to say that the lane hiccuped and gave me another try, so danny knocked that pin down giving me the spare after all. then i got two stricked in a row all on my own! and i think i got a spare in the next to last frame. i didn’t thin i was going to win, i thought i came up 3 points sort, but i ended up 3 points ahead with 126! wooo. i tried to take pictures of the the score screen but it was so dark and high up that i couldn’t hold steady without a tripod.

after that we headed home, i set up a program i’m trying out on my puter (grr it kicks ass but i s $50 to register), then went to bed too late since i had rested all day. today my stomach isn’t bothering me really, though it may have bothered the toilet. tmi, i’m sure. i need to go out to dinner with my family soon. yes.

so to continue a post i had started when i was sick…. we went to the pobox the other day. i was surprise to find a few holiday cards! thank you. that card rocked, candace!! i also got cards from kimberly, krisza, sharon, kitte, and hilary. wow! but the bigger surprise was three gifts! a dinner card from dcver! blue plaid jammies from muttly! (i have a huge pajama fetish!) and a crazy blue winter hat… this one is a bit of a mystery… says it is sent from brian in florida? i love it, but i’m not sure who to thank. so i did get a few christmas presents after all.

i need to go shower since it is already getting dark out. ugh.
