stephanie is: worried worried…

um, ack! i just realized my ear feels very very hot. i asked danny to look at it and he said it is red. sure enough it is turning bright red. i feel lots of pressure and fullness/clogging and draining in between my ear and throat. my earing holes appear to be fine but i cleaned them with alcohol anyway. i feel like my ear is on fire. oh and i have felt dizzy since dinner – but i thought it was cause of the caffine in my iced tea and chocolate. is this the start of an ear infection? anyone have suggestions on how to treat it besides going to a doctor? hrm.

  1. guess its some infection that was dormant and then flared up…go to the dr ASAP if it doesnt go away…if it becomes an inner ear infection thats really really bad.

  2. I had ear infections every year as a kid and I’m telling you right now, if it becomes an infection, i.e. clogged up and sharp pains as well as a dull ache, take some ibuprofen and go to a doctor. You’ll need to be put on antibiotics to make the infection go away and it’s really dangerous not to because a whole variety of things can come along with an untreated ear infection that you do not want to deal with.

  3. Remedy

This sounds strange, but soak a washcloth in warm chamomile tea and place it against your ear. My mom is the queen of home remedies and used to do this for my brother and I when we were kids. It’s kind of messy, but it really works!
