I was wondering when you would post that statement… Just imagine the situation for the women that elect (or have the chance to elect) to be stay at home moms, after working in a career style job for a while…
My wife went a solid 5 years! and only just recently did we work out how she could go back to work for thursdays and fridays (my mom watches the kids thurs, and daycare on our street does friday – the 5 year old is in school for the afternoons and the 3 year old is all day with day care)… And this step was taken so she could get some normalized social contact going… everything was either totally kids – fun but believe me it’s hard work only dealing with babies or toddlers all day every day, week after week… or socially with other moms doing the same thing…
Have you elected to stay home and develop your private consulting practice? or will you take work if you can get it?
ps. I hope all is well Steph – and remember, paprika floats. 😀
you still have your naminals…that’s what keeps me company almost all day..
well, when you aren’t so busy I will give you a call 🙂
Awwwww, don’t let the bastards get you down! What is probably going on here is that you aren’t able to enjoy working at home now because it is the result of being laid off—-and no matter how strong someone’s ego is there is always shame associated with that. I regularly read your journal and I recall you hoping that one day you could get to where you could work from home. You’ve been given the opportunity now—don’t let being laid off sour the opportunity! Take it and run with it—life may have just given you what you’ve been hoping for. As for feeling lonely I can understand—I work alone. Get involved in an activity in after work hours (which can be whenever you schedule it to be!) like tennis or scuba or whatever you like to do.
no… it has nothing to do with being laid off. lack of human contact = loneliness… whatever the circumstances.
Ahhh. I’m sorry. Just enjoy your time at home while you can. You’ll be back to the daily grind before you know it unless you score a lot of freelance stuff. And…hell…that would be awesome for you! I know you miss everyone at your old work though….
