stephanie is: thirsty thirsty.

so last night (in addition to haveing my favorite khakis get orange bleached spots all over) i had to wash a pair of black pants for the first time. i had had them two years (ack, i have a fear of washing black pants – and rightfully so) but china had gotten them dirty with muddy feet. they fit soo nice – just a little big cause they were a size 3. well, they came out of the laundry faded and about a size 0. bah. i guess they go to the goodwill pile too. all this when i was already hunting for pants cause i am wearing the same few pairs every day. i remember where i got the khakis – if i am lucky they still have a size 1 but i doubt it. and i didn’t look to hard for pants when i went to the mall with danny and moose cause they insisted on waiting outside of every store so i didn’t want to take too much time. maybe i should go to the mall for lunch to see if i can find replacments…

i am so thirsty cause i have no change or $1’s for the vending machine and our office is always out of water in the cooler. every time i break down and get water fountain water it tastes like someone peed in it.

i know… all i do is bitch bitch bitch.

  1. good morning stephanie!!

I hope you feel better and sometimes bitching is good…i know because i like to bitch too…:p I hope this question neither upsets you or pisses you off…Did you wash your black pants in cold water? I wash all my darks in cold no matter how dirty they get and never have a problem with shrinkage and dry on medium. And yes i know how to do laundry with me being a guy…ive been doing my own for 20 or so years…:p Cheer up stephi…today is “hump” day and iam not talking about the sex. C-ya…:)

  2. ps…

a girl should NEVER take 2 guys shopping with her. You still should have done what you wanted to do no matter what. I would have told the guys to “piss off” and ill be done when iam done shopping.

  3. Just a laundry hint that I do and it helps. I wash my blacks inside out in cold water and hang them to dry. When all my blacks start to look bad I wash a load with cold water dye (available in fabric stores and not like the hot water rit dye) and then all my blacks are fresh again. It is a lot cheaper than purchasing new black clothing. I hope this helps 🙂

    • i am super lame at laundry – i only learned how to do it 2 years ago. i will ahve to try that next time… unfortunatly i can’t wear these pants any more…

      • I have been doing my own laundry since I was 11 years old. I made a lot of mistakes in the beginning and learned the hard way. I don’t put a lot of my clothes in the dryer now and have a new understanding of why grandmas love their clotheslines. Since I am so tall, it helps keep my pants from shrinking up and the legs all being too short. Otherwise I look like I am getting ready for a flood. hehe

        • *nod* i rarely dry most of my clothes. #1 because drying shrinks stuff, #2 i think the clothes last longer that way, #3 because air drying is free for me. 🙂

i look forward to the day when i own my own washing machine and clothes line. then i won’t have people using bleach in the load before me, ruining my dark clothes because they needed bright whites. then i won’t have to wait all day for a dryer. etc etc.

      • oh and another thing. Sometimes if your pants shrink in the dryer you can wash them again, take them out and stretch them out when wet and hang them up. Sometimes that will put them back to their original size. I have done this many times. Why don’t you give it a try before throwing them out 🙂

  4. i have the same experiences with my pants only b/c we have well water. rust gets on my pants and white shirts it sucks!

  5. when i had school on a campus a while back, i had a lot of walking to do and would over*heat easily.. i would took a small water bottle and fill it with cold water or juice and such to take with me..the vending machines were mucho $$..maybe you could do that, to avoid the evil cooler water (ugh.)

  6. Psssst….you can bitch all you want to. This is a JOURNAL. And you can use it to vent or anything else you wanna use it for. So poop on the heads of anyone who tells you differently.

  7. ok — u had a pair of pants for TWO years before you washed them? i can understand the whole fear of shrinkage/fading thing — we all have that — but TWO years? pardon my ignorance, but how did u keep them clean/fresh?
