stephanie is: ehn ehn.

so we are back… the vet cost $200. i’ll need to get a refferal for a cardiologist in a couple weeks. apparently i misunderstood how much they would be shaving him for a lion’s clip. the vet and i assumed we were thinking of the same thing… doh!

well the good thing is simba is cool and happy about all that hot fur suddenly being gone. they said he did great even though he was awake for it. he is loving it and can’t figure out what the fuss is about. he is adorable yet a little frightening at the same time… looks like a cross between a poodle and an exotic eygiptian cat. poor sweet thing – now when he chases the dog we can’t keep ourselves from laughing cause he’s still just as much of a badass as before – just with a froofy hair do.

he feels nice and cool, and his heart rate is lower because of that, and THAT makes me very very happy.

rawr!

aawww he was in heaven just now when i pet his shaved fur… and his happy wagging tail is still going *swooshswoosh*. right now he is busily tending to washing his arm fur… his job sure got easy- whatever will he do all day!

    • that is my exact reaction! when they brought him out i didn’t want the vet to feel bad that i misunderstood so all i said was “you’re so skinny!” and they chuckled…

  1. Mythological

I’ve read stories about the mini-poodle-lion-cat but I never believed then until now!

Take care of him..He’s most likely the last of his kind… I hear if you make a wish on a mini-poodle-lion-cat when you toss him in a fountain, he scratches you for luck when you take him out.

  2. omg that rocks! how much did that cost you (just the shaving part)? pb keeps threatening to shave the cat and i say no but dang that’s cute in a funny weird way, now i am tempted.

  3. That is the easily the most truly wonderful thing I have seen all day. Now my Kitty Lucinda needs to beware…you may have started a high fashion trend.

  4. cool

Do they usually sedate the cats while shaving them?

I really want my cat to get her fur shaven, but she’d freak out if they ever put that buzzing hair clipper near her.

it depends on the cat and on the groomer… i wasn’t sure how simba would react so i went ahead and followed the no breakfast rule and paid for the bloodwork needed before anisthiesia (sp)…. they prolly would have put him under so they could do a cleaner job on his legs but they didn’t due to his heart.

  5. eep! too cute!

i get Bettie and Loco (my 2 long-haired cats) that same haircut every summer *giggle*

i take them to the groomer, who charges me $25 each. in case you were wondering. they also get bathed and their nails clipped and they come out smelling so pretty. *giggle*

the first time i had a cat shaved was Loco, ’cause when we got him he had really bad mats…clumps of fur matted all the way down to his skin. the vet did a crappy job, tho. the groomer makes them both look so damn cute.

thanks for reminding me i need to make an appointment to have them groomed. *giggle*

    so cute!!!

  6. Bwahahaha!

My boyfriend has a longhaired cat that is shedding like mad because the weather is warming up. While I don’t think he’s uncomfortable with the temperature yet, I’m a bit worried about hairballs. And damn! The house is covered in white cat hair. I doubt Daniel’d ever let me have his cat shaved, this definitely has me thinking…

  7. Wow, I’v never heard of or saw anyone do that to a cat before!!! Soo cute! If it stayed that hot where I am my orange cat here might be in trouble!
