stephanie is: sad sad.

the vet just called back. they did the x-ray and ecg, and their cardiologist feels that it wouldn’t be wise to sedate him until he has gone to a specialist for an ultrasound. the xray showed some enlargement of his heart and the ecg – while fairly good – still showed a consistanly fast heartrate. they told me he is doing good being handled so they are going to go ahead and do the best they can on the grooming while he is awake. “he may not be as pretty” they said. i don’t mind about that – i just want him to be comfortable in the hot weather.

so in a/c news, we called the repair place and they suggested we check the air filter. and of course it is nasty so we need to go buy a new one. they should conisder putting that on their answering machine… it would save a lot of people a hot sleepless night while they wait to call in the morning.

  1. do not fret. this is not terrible news. many, many, many cats have this problem.
my cat has had an enlarged heart with murmur since the age of 3. she is now 22 years old.

    hang tight.
