oh no. the vet just called… i had asked that they do and exam and some tests before puttng him under sedation for his grooming. she says she found a heart murmer. a “3 out of 6” one. i told her to continue to do whatever tests they could do there (some x-rays… i would have to take him elsewhere for a sonogram if it looks worrisome.)… my poor baby. and i have a feeling this will not be easy on my credit card either. but anything for him.

My Keeshond I adopted last October has a heart murmur at the same range. What they mean by 3 out of 6 is the loudness of it. I was really worried when I found out. But after further research, I found out that animals with heart murmurs can lead long, full and happy lives. There are warning signs you need to look out for, etc.

Aw, Stephanie– I’m sorry. My kitty Maitreya had a heart murmur discovered last time he was at the vet— we’re going back soont o have it checked out– our vet sometimes they develop it out of anxiety at being there, especially if it isn’t something the vet noticed on past visits.
