stephanie is: working. working.

my mission tonight, should i choose to accept it, will be to go through all my clothes to get rid of what i don’t want. no garage sales or ebay autions… i’ve always given what my friends don’t want to goodwill. and since i don’t really have any girlie friends here, it will all go to charity. danny and i usually donate several bags/boxes of clothes and housewares a year. sometimes there are clothes that i am kinda attached to but never wear. i make myself put those away in a box and if i don’t wear them or even miss them in a few months, i can probably get rid of them.

i am looking forward to working two days a week from home starting thursday. image the luxury of being able to do laundry before 9pm! or vacuuming when its not so late you bother the neighbors… i told danny not to expect household perfection. it is only two days a week and i still have to work a full 8 hours both days. he still has to do his share…

      • Just watch and learn.

I went from “useless” to “competent” by watching my mom. And experimenting. šŸ™‚

We’ll work on going from “competent” to “quite good” when I have more time and a kitchen of my own.

  1. i do the some thing with my clothes..i get attatched to a few things too, but i usually end up donating those as well since i know i don’t wear them anymore..

  2. I have never donated to our Goodwill… šŸ™ Everytime I go there to look around there are bags of clothes on the sidewalk and people are just going through them… It’s like the owners of the store don’t care about it at all…

    • thats not good…

the last time we went was a big salvation army in alexandria. we had to follow a queue of cars around, where they collected the bags and put them right in a huge mac truck (i guess to go be sorted) and gave us a tax receipt

    • The goodwill I went to in MN was always good about making sure they got your items and sent them through their sorting department. I never had any problems when i would go there to give up old ‘stuff’ – usually clothes.

  3. That’s what we do too. A couple times a year we have a big closet cleaning party and bag it all up and take it to the local Goodwill. I don’t know how we accumulate so much clothing! Have fun Stephanie šŸ™‚

  4. working from home

I work from home 7 days a week and still don’t have time for household perfection! If only I didn’t have to work at all….

  5. What a good idea! I really need to do that. I have so many clothes (some of which I never wear), and I dont have enough room for it all. Ack!
