stephanie is: busy busy…

hi. i have been up. watched blue’s clues, fed all the naminals, and have been doing site stuffs. danny just got back from having his regualr car serviceing. he stopped by the post office to get the laptop ram he bought for me. he is putting it in now… don’t break it! hehe. he also bought me breast cancer stamps at the post office πŸ™‚

i think i may eat some breakfast and shower soon. i plan on going to microcenter sometime this weekend and dropping $300 (owch) on an airport base. i’ve had a wireless card for a few days now that i ordered online. i have not found the base online at a low enough price to justify the shipping charges. so i am actually going to buy something computer-like in a store… gasp! but then my laptop will be online. maybe i should just go ahead and buy another homeconnect cam while i am there (another $100)… right now i am carrying my spare cam to and from work and my laptop every day. it is always in my bag and i am afraid i am going to break it one day. i want streaming puppy cam while i am at work! better go look at my checking account…

don’t forget that the 14th person to join my site starting april 3rd will will double their membership length. i am starting to think i should have picked a lower number..

  1. Happy Shopping!

Question, what is an airport base?

Don’t you use video camera for your home cam? Which one is the 3COM (homeconnect)? Is that the spare you’re toting back and forth from work? A streaming puppy cam would be great!!!

      airport = http://www.apple.com/airport/

i should prolly write this up in a faq…

      on my desktop puter (a 266mhz g3) i have:

-a homeconnect (i added a usb card to my puter)
-all these cams share a connection and are one-at-a-time
—an older rca video cam (used when i am in our home office)
—a newer s-video video cam (i have cables running it up to the bedroom)
—and a crap-ass x-10 wireless cam for around the house where the others don’t reach (that goes bye bye once i have the airport.)

at work, the streaming puter (an 85hz mac) has my first cam, a color quickcam cause it has no usb.

my work desktop shares the second usb homeconnect cam with my laptop at home.

i’ve also gone through various other cams that i wanted to try but they are all lame and i give them away. i have one lame cam left that could prolly use a good home, hehe.

hm? is the 3com homeconnect cam not only for a pc? i wanted to buy one aditionally and since it has an usb i thought i could use it on my ibook but then i read it runs under windows only. confusing. do you use it with a mac?
        thanks.
        love,

          heya moonsis.
Yeah, they work great on macs as well as peecee. Steph runs em off three different generations of g3.

          • Thank you!

            Thank you for the info!
then i will get a 3com cam for my ibook. yay!
it now has a crappy kritter and this one needs too much light and has bad resolution.
            – strange since it is nearly as expensive as the 3com.
anyway… thank you for your quick response!

  2. Cams

I have a quickcam VC parellel port right now, that I love the quality on and works fine for home..& I have a quickcam express (quality isn’t so great on that one) thats USB, but Id really like to get another USB cam thats pur-tee cheap, but has quality around the level of a Vc.. So..Since you seem to know cams – Any suggestions??

    • Re: Cams

get the 3com homeconnect. it’s only about $100, and is by far the best cam we have used. we have 3 of em now.

  3. You LJ people seem to know your cam stuff, so I’ll ask here.. Im looking to get a cam, USB with really really good quality without loosing any speed, any suggestions ?

  4. Bras for teeny bodies. . .

Do you know anyone who sews? You could get a bra pattern and some fabric from the fabric store and have a bunch of them custom made to fit your body. Then you could have whatever you wanted on them…even Powerpuff Girls if you could find the fabric! ;D

In the mean time, Old Navy has girls bras on sale for $4 each and Gap has them on sale 2 for 12.50 in solid colors (sorry, no cartoon seahorses).

Thanks for the info on the cams!
