ow. it has felt like i’ve been punched in the eye all day. i just looked and there is a swollen red spot in my lower lid. ow ow. we are going to dinner in the mall that has my eye doctor but they will be closed. dang. i hope it gets better so i can actually see to drive to work and stuff.

sounds like you have a “sty”
It does sound like a sty. Put a hot wet wash cloth on it. It will hurt at first but it will feel better after a couple of minutes.
i have a sty now too.
but a hot wet wash cloth is lovely for it. imma do that now!

Well, it *sounds* like a sty, but it’s probably OSS (optic swivel syndrome), which results with the eye trying desperately to keep up with vastly improved bandwidth after being lulled into complacence with dial-up speeds.
i’ve gotten those way way too many times. warm cloths have always helped me—-they just go away on their own after a couple days.
they do suck tremendously, my sympathies.
