I had a page on Geoshitties once and it was the worst experience I have ever had on the net. It takes forever to get anything done, they don’t provide any kind of real assistance when you need it(and when they do they try to make it look like it’s your fault that they suck so much). After three months I just said the hell with it and scrapped the thing.
There’s a way to get around it
You know what you could do, though it only works for people using IE, not netscape (before version 6), use iframes so then geocities can’t detect that the image is elsewhere.
for example, you can do:
<iframe src=http://www.geocities.com width=20 height=30 scrolling=auto frameborder=0></iframe>
and just point the src to your picture and make the size the same, and that is like a little floating frame, and there’s absolutely no way they could detect it!
people with netscape will only see whatever you put inbetween the <iframe></iframe> tags. (there’s ilayer for netscape, but it doesn’t really work right, and is really buggy)

actually make the height and width ALOT bigger, heehe, i tried it on my livejournal (with like width=300 height=200) and it looks kinda cool, and inside the iframe tags i just put a link to the iframe src for the netscape users

I remember when Angelfire started doing that. But instead of just not showing the pics, the replaced them with a nice “This image hosted on Angelfire.com” image. I saw one page that had the background image replaced… It was horrid. YahooCities sucks. I scrapped my page there when Yahoo bought them out.
I really hope you get your internet connection back up so you don’t have to deal with these bastards.

Thanks to administrator of the server that holds my site, I have more bandwidth than I will probably ever use, and I now have a way to give people accounts on it. I gave my loverboy one for his webcam page.
This means that if you want, I can give you an account (ftp and ssh access and all) for your LJ images… space isn’t really an issue for now either since i’m not using any space at all.
Let me know if you want it…
