stephanie is: miserable miserable.

i am so miserable. i can’t stop coughing – it is ripping holes through my chest. i lost my appetite again and my fever is back. i can’t get comfortable whether i am laying, sitting, standing… i slept awful. i am not going to be able to go back to work monday at this rate. how long does the flu last? i guess i am entering the later stages since i am coughing up lunch cookies… but i can’t take this much longer. i am bored out of my mind but too miserable to do anything.

  1. Must get better. Think this over and over and over…I’m sorry your sick Steph. I don’t like it when people feel nasty. Have you tried Herbal Tea yet? And a really, really nice bath. Perferably hot?

  2. For uncomplicated influenza, your doctor will probably tell you to stay in bed at home as long as the sickness is severe, and perhaps for about two days after the fever is gone. Common medications, such as acetaminophen, are used to treat fever and aches and pains.

  3. Stay away from all things that cause mucus such as pasta, muffins, milk (I don’t know if you drink it or not), bread – anything starchy, cereals, etc.

You’ll find that your cough will be better. Of course, drink a *ton* of water, that’s the best thing in the world. It’ll help break down the phlegm as well as ease it’s working it’s way out of your body.

  4. Hot tea helps me when I’m all clogged up. It seems to help break up the phlegm and it feels good on my sore throat. I’m rather fond of hot flu medicines when I’m sick. It’s easier than taking syrups and pills, plus it helps the way hot tea does.

    Get well soon!

  5. hot lemon tea or neocitrin….

steph you have to watch you don’t have pneumonia…you certainly have the symptoms…my husband had it and it went like that…you need antibiotics before it goes too far….
I am not trying to alarm you or think I am a doc but its not sounding good…take care hon
    worried worried…..

  6. It’s flu season. Did you get a flu shot? What I hate is when I’m fine all day, but when I wake up in the morning, my throat feels like sandpaper and I’ve got a nose full of yellow nastiness… I’ve been chonically sick all year. I think it’s because i’m spending so much more time around sick people…
