we just got back from getting me medicine. i’m not really supposed to take the expectorant in it cause it speeds up my heart, but if i do i just have to stay in bed for the day. i really need it though – i keep cough from the fuzzy-lung feeling and it isn’t doing any good… just hurting my throat. i also bought more mouthwash and toiletpaper, and a cute cute dooogy stuffies that was only $6. she needs hugs, which is good cause so do i right now. i’m going to go to bed now. i feel tingly and feverish again…

Is it the guaifenesin that makes your heart race? Interesting. I know pseudoephedrine will do that but I didn’t know the mucolytic could. I hope you feel better. 🙂
That’d be really weird if the guafenesin was doing it…
Pseudoephedrine, on the other hand… also, if whatever she’s taking is an expectorant/decongestant double whammy, it may contain phenylpropanolamine, which the FDA recently decided should not be available OTC due to potential problems…

Yeah, some of those combination products can cause more problems than their worth. I haven’t taken PPA since the 70’s because it made me feel so crappy.
The best thing to keep in mind is to avoid combo products but if you do use them know what the individual “medications” can do.
