people have asked me where the people complaining about memberships are. as i said, they mostly email me. and i mostly write them back “thanks for the input” and go on with life. here is an example. this person felt the need to register an email address in my honour…

The delete button is too fine for pinheads like that. You should send this person a definition of “donation”. Your intentions were very clear with the donations. You picked reputable and worthy causes to support. I don’t recall you “beggin” for gifts, so to me that was done on their own accord.
Remember you can’t please everyone. You might want to abide by the philosopy of “GHGN”, Greatest Happiness for the Greatest Number”. You are doing the right thing.
the sad part is you can’t even argue with people like that. cuz they’re actually impressed with themselves. this person actually rereads that email going “hee hee oh ya…man i’m cool!” it’s like in grade 8 when boys would try to snap my bra and be all like high-fiving each other. til they got punched in the mouth. hehe. with these kindsa people it all comes down to one simple thing. free. if you gave this person a free membership they’d have no complaints about other people sending donations. that’s how sad these people are. and whoever this lamer is they’re copying the speech and inflections used by you and holly. which means they’ve like been studying you or something. uh ya that’s pretty cool. i know you’ve had to deal with losers like this a bazillion times so there’s really nothing cool i could say to help. only that i know you’re so way better than these twits. just let them go somewhere and have a good cry or something. be good!

For what its worth, I agree with what most of your REAL friends have suggesting. Starting from scratch. Probably easiest for all concerned.
btw Steph, if you decide to do the “Lifetime” membership thing you might want to reinforce the stipulation that “Lifetime” refers to the life of the site rather than the lifetime of the members. If you decide to close shop in five years you won’t get those nasty emails saying “Hey, I bought a lifetime membership!!! You’re closing up and I’m not dead yet!!”
