stephanie is: sleepy…
ugh, gonna try to type fast cause i am sleepy. it was a long day of repair people. the last of them didn’t finish till 4pm. the electrician replaced a wire that had fried and also fixed some wacky wiring to our livingroom switches. the plumbers sent a camera down the sewer pipes outside our house and found some morter out there tha they cleared. they will come back later to check again and to clean more out of the public sewer pipes. the fireplace person was just shocked at our crapass fireplace. there was a hold around the exhaust pipe to the outside that was letting a wind in to blow out the flames, the remote control reciever was all melted (yet somehow still working), the glass fromt wasn’t sealed so you’d smell gas when you turned it on, and it was missing it’s tan colored bricks in the back (i asked to have them left off cause i like the pretty flames against the black). sheesh.
we had to go out to get crickets tonight, so we tried a little petstore that was nearby. the big chains are always out of crickets. they had cute cute puppies! danny really wants a puppy but we’d rather adopt one. as long as it is a medium to small doggy i don’t mind. we went to hard times cafe to eat. i already knew i didn’t like their “soy flake and peanut” veggie chilli, bleh. but i wanted to find something i liked there cause i knew danny liked to eat there. i ordered their veggie burger… i took one bite and took the bite right out of my mouth again. eeeew. it tasted and smelled just like cow. moooo! we even asked the waitress if it was meat. apparently they just have veggie burgers that are hard to tell from the meat patties. anyway i couldn’t eat it. i hate meat – so why would i want to eat something that tastes just like it? i inhaled my fries and pickle.
i must sleep now. tomorrow i need to catch up on the work i didn’t really get done today.
veggie burger
It tastes like meat because they’re catering to the “I don’t eat meat because I’m against killing animals for food, but I like the taste of meat anyway” variety of vegetarian, not the “I don’t eat meat because I don’t like the taste/smell (and maybe don’t like the idea of killing animals for food)” variety.
I noticed something new in the grocery store the other day… vegetarian imitation ground beef… weird.
Re: veggie burger
yes..i have been scared to try veggieburgers cause everyone i know says they taste just like meat (which is cool for them cause they like the taste of meat.. they are either just against killing animals or they can’t eat certain meats cause of their health..etc… ) and i hate the taste and texture of meat..bleh!
You mention french fries. Do you know what kind of animal fats are added to those in the processing plants? It’s not just what they’re cooked in at the restaraunt. They’re cooked first immediately after they’re processed.
i don’t care that much as long as they don’t make me sick or taste like meat…
The “hamburger” Veggie Burgers and Boca Burgers are also for the people that demand meat but are told to stay away from it because of health problems. Since they are vegetable (or fungal) products they supposedly contain less saturated fat. I kind of like them. They really don’t taste like moo-cow to me. I still like the wheaty Veggie Burgers best though.
do you know any good veggieburger brands?
ugh i feel the same way about fake meat.
You can’t escape it.
Everything is cooked in animal fat anyways, even McDonalds fries are cooked in 90% animal fat 10% vegetable fat (whats worse is that they lie about it when asked)
