i changed some of my earrings for the first time in like 3-5 years. ewwwwie. they are now brown instead of silver and have goopy ear skin gunk caked into the backings. those were tounching my ears! yuck! funny thing is with all the holes i have (8 i think), and half done by myself – i have never ever had an infection!

  1. lucky you!

I’ve tried many different types of ear holes and finally have given up to just one in each ear. One time I had my cartilidge done and the people who did it werent even sure it would work since the top of my ear folds down so tightly. It barely worked and I got the worst infection. I couldn’t lie on that side at night and everytime anyone would get near it, I would flinch, finally i had to just take it out. I envy your no infection ears! =]

  2. Brrrrrrr………….

    Ahh, the “Brrr” theme again.
    I can relate.
People keep on bitching that my office to too HOT!
Let them freeze in the dark.
    I like it HOT.

  3. Earring

I had one that stayed in my ear for a good 2 years. When I finally took it out it had a good bit of the “goopy ear skin gunk” you described 🙂

  4. wow …I only have four holes total! how did you pierce them yourself? I dunno if I have the nerve for that.
I can relate about gunk because I had small hoops in for a few years without removing them. However, I developed an allergy to nickel awhile after I removed them, so now I have to get nickel free earrings, and they don’t seem to make that many. I guess nickel is in basically all metals except really high quality gold. blah. It got so bad that my ears would turn red and bleed if I put earrings in. blechh.
