Subject: My daughter..

Friends,

I’d like to make a public acknowledgement of my amazing daughter.
She is a graphic designer, specializing in web page design and
implementation. Her personal web site is something to behold. It’s
always growing, always changing. And it performs a useful/vital
function for her – it’s her artist’s portfolio.

Lately she and her fiancee are trying to purchase their first home.
If any of you are familiar with northern Virginia, you will know that
the home prices are second only to Silicon Valley in California.

Her web server costs her about $400/month. This is not compatible
with buying one’s first home. As a consequence she set up a
membership option on the site to offset some of the costs. While
there is still a lot of free material, some of the neatest stuff is
now only available to members.

Despite needing every penny, she and Dan have decided that all
donations received on Mondays will be gathered together and sent to a PD organization. The first donation of $150 went to the NPF. This month’s collection went to the MJFox organization. Some of her virtual friends have even donated twice, one of the donations on a Monday.

Her Dad is very grateful and proud of her.

Here’s her main page URL:

PS: A side light: When I first informed her of my diagnosis last
December she broke down in tears. I could see this because before calling, I connected to the streaming video from her office computer. (She has web cams everywhere!) Within 15 minutes she had searched the Internet for PD information, grabbed one of NPF’s flaming torch icons, modified it, and had it on her main page with a link to the NPF.

  1. That is so amazing!!!!

That brought me to tears to read that. The total support your father has for your website I could only wish for. Let alone your love for a very wonderful loving man. I wish my dad was still here and had the presence of mind to interact with. My father was alzheimers.

I totally respect you and your dad, and I can FEEl the LOVE and wish I had the funds to donate. Your dad deserves it so much 🙂

No words or amount of anything can compare to the support you have for one another.

I love you both. How can you not? There is so much love between the 2 of you and it shows 🙂

I have to admit that it takes a lot to touch me, but reading that made tears come to my eyes. That’s one of the sweetest, most wonderful things I have read in a long time. You’re lucky to have a dad who cares so much.

  3. as well as being a superior human being, you’re a super cool daughter.

i honestly think that people like you are the next step in human evolution… i know that may sound over the top, but i mean it.

You guys are great! I soooooo hope I can maintain that kind of relationship with my daughter. She is 12 and her mom and I have been divorced for 10 years. We have a great relationship (the baby and I) but the fun is just beginning – the teenage years!

We know you are special. That is why we keep coming back. Enjoy your fantastic daddy!!
