i am cold. we went out to eat at chichi’s and the restaurant was way too cold. the beans on my taco salad were freezing cold- bleh. i just piled on extra guacamole and ate most of it anyway. afterwards we stopped at the store to buy more bubble bath.
i am working on a blue version of that new icon set. work work work…
Cold…
Yeah I wonder why the temperature dropped all of the sudden. It’s really cold outside..
Fake Can Be Just As Good
… is the name of my favorite album by Blonde Redhead, but never mind that.
The bad thing about food nowadays is that most of what’s out there is a pale imitation of the real thing, for a variety of reasons. (Don’t get me started on agribusiness.) The funny thing is that a lot of it IS good, in its own way.
My philosophy is to eat what you like, and not worry about what’s real and what isn’t. Of course, if it’s PLASTIC, that’s another story …

cold…
as much as I don’t want you to be uncomfortable, I love it when you are cold because of that little cold icon guy! sorry your beans were cold though, that sounds pretty yuk.
Cold..Brrr
But then, tossing the cats in the snow will have its perks..
Re: Cold..Brrr
You will be fine, you just need to grow a DC coat 🙂
I LOVE that place
I miss eating at chi chi’s. They dont have them in LA. Last March when I went back to Indiana to visit.. I, of course, had to go to chichis.
I always get the combo meal with the seafood enchilada.. chicken enchilada.. and I think the other one is just cheese. mmmmmmmMmmm.
Re: I LOVE that place
You’re in socal complaining about missing bad mexican food? I would give anything to have a real mexican joint here as opposed to the crap they serve up at chi chis. I miss cali.
Re: I LOVE that place
Yeah, my favorite mexi places are the mom and pop outfits where no one speaks english. The food is authentic and they know what they are doing. I have been a little wary of catching some food born illnesses in those places though…
Re: I LOVE that place
I too, now live on the east coast, and miss the west coast terribly for things like good mexican food. Seems to me that the best mexican places are all there, and the mexican food (if you can call it that) here on the east coast (particularly in Georgia) is just total and utter crap. It’s all slop if you ask me, and the funny thing is that mexican’s cook it. However, I found out from talking to some people who own a chinese resturant (there are no really great chinese resturants here either, only a few that are “ok”) is that the resturant cooks have to cook food the way that the people coming into their resturants want it, otherwise they don’t get any customers. How this came about, is that I love good mongolian beef, which is *hot* (hence “mongolian”) – here in Georgia they like it *sweet* – insane! It’s not supposed to be sweet, it’s supposed to be hot, damn it!
Probably just as well that there isn’t as good food here, I eat in resturants far too often for my own good anyway, and need to cook more.
Re: I LOVE that place
I think you are onto something there! To get good mexican food I used to go to “the bad side of town” (as my friends called it). I used to get a lot of looks from the locals as being out of place but damn the food was good. Everyone pretty much just left me alone.
Re: I LOVE that place
well, I see what you are saying.. but.. chichis is what I has grown accustomed to. As funny as it seems.. THAT was real mexican to me.. becuz i had never had real authentic mexican. When I first moved out here.. it took me a while to get use to the real mexican places… and although I am now getting use to them and liking them.. I still cant help but want something from chichis every once in a while.
