i just have this sinking feeling that we will not get any good mortgage. those ones i posted have been calling and writing all day (the commercials for lendingtree.com weren’t kidding about them competeing for you!) – however they do the credit report then and find out that i have no credit so i am of no use. argh. i feel so helpless! i paid every fucking cent of my credit card bill in full on time every fucking month! garrrh! i wish we had more time to build up credit and get a good loan. but we only have a couple more weeks left before we loose this house. then it is bye bye big pretty bathroom, bye bye fireplace. i don’t want to take some mortgage with insane rates because i can’t deal with money being so tight that we can’t afford to save each month. they tell us we could put more money up front. heh. “certainly sir – let me just pull some more money out of my ass. is another 20K good for you?”. i can only save about $600-900 a month. that doesn’t add up terribly fast. enough enough! no more money talk today. i am tired of it. i am going to make some silly animated gifs until my tv show comes on at 11pm.

  1. Yuck … money. I would think that they could tell you in about 2 seconds whether you qualify. I believe it is more of an income standard that have to be met than the number of credit cards you have … like no more than X % of the combined income can go to the mortgage.

    Well good luck !!!

  2. So take the stupid mortgage, live with it the best you can for a few months, then refinance at a better rate somewhere else. It’s done all the time!

    • That would be fine if we were not already talking about a lot of money here. We stretched out just about as much as we can to be able to get this house at the rates we were quoted. As it is already, we are looking at over double what we pay now. This aint chump change we’re talking about. Sure, a couple hundred dollars more does not sound like much, but it adds up quickly when you are right around your limit.

    • Plus, “Anonymous” they need to think about having a LIFE and not always stressing about money! That’s why we went a thousand or two under what we could afford! Just incase! There young (as am I) and pushing the limit on that much money could send’m right to the poor house! You also have to think about the bills that come along with the whole package…etc.!

  3. Don’t be cash poor

Don’t overextend yourself. I have seen too many relationships go south because of money woes. Save as much as you can and keep up the habit of paying off your cc bills each month. That tells a lender that you are wisely using your money. I have heard you say how proud you are of the accomplishments in the last year or two. While it may seem like a long time another year is nothing. Not much fun to eat hotdogs every night and sit in an empty room because you can’t afford to furnish it.

  4. hey there… it’ll be alright! If you loose this house, you can always find another… possibly better house down the road. And because by then you’ll have more money saved up, you may be able to afford something with an even bigger better prettier bathroom.
We are going through the same thing right now (trying to get our mortgage to get our house, move out of our appartment (who’s rent is going up this september.) ack! One thing i’ve learned is just to take it all one day at a time…There is nothing you can do now to change your credit rating… so no need in losing sleep over it… just take it slow, and the goodness will fall right in your lap… eventually. 🙂
