talking about puppies makes you hungry?
hmmmm…

Oh pooh
just becareful with breeders.
a good breeder will make you feel like you are getting interviewed to have the dog, those are people who truely care about the dog and want it to go to a good home. not that you wouldn’t give it a good home but well you do want to get a good breeder.
Re: Oh pooh
I agree, you have to be carefull of puppy mills. They don’t care as much about the breeding and more about just making money off of the dogs. My next door neighbor got an English Bull Dog from a terrible breeder and They have put over $10,000 in bills for the dogs health issues in the past 8 years.
I bought an English Bull Dog for my friend Bill in Los Angelas from a good dog breeder and it had great health. I had to sit down and be interviewed as if I was adopting a child before they would sell it to me. I only paid $800 and got a way nicer dog for Bill then what the next door neighbor got for $1500 and the dog I got had better blood lines and its father was the national grand champion in doggie competitions for its breed. You really do need to look around before you purchase. Cost of the dog doesn’t always mean it is a better dog either.
When I got the dog I purchased for my friend when I took it to the vet to get the papers to fly it down to him, they were so impressed with the puppy that it took me 4 hours at the vets office because everyone had to hold the dog and the vet went out and got one for herself because she was so impressed. I didn’t even have to pay for that vet visit to get the papers, that is how cool the dog was !! π
i would think a purebred pug would probably have breathing problems….
if you don’t get a purebred, they live longer and have less problems… we had a pure bred chow that died yesterday… she was only 7… we have a 13 year old chow chow mix with heart worms that the vet said would die a year and a half ago….
i am convinced the extra hundreds or thousands of dollars spent on a pure bred are not worth it.. find an animal at a shelter for fifty dollars and they will most than likely live longer with fewer health problems..
My 2 cents….
Just to throw my two cents in…
You can get a perfectly good puppy at a rescue, too. Take a look-see around you for some rescues in your area.
Re: My 2 cents….
i would love to find one at a shelter or rescue. i am not hung up about having the puppy be pure bred. but i do want a puppy instead of an older dog. i know there are lots of older doggies that need homes, but i have never had a dog and want the full experience – plus it will need to meet the kitties when it is young…
i’ll be looking all over i suppose…
Re: My 2 cents….
I totally understand! =) Good luck and if you have any questions, give me a holler. I am a certified vet tech and Great Dane foster mommy!
ps, glad you are feeling better. =)
Re: My 2 cents….
i got my doggie from a pound/animal rescue thinger. he was about 3 or so when we got him. we love him to death. =)
hey stephanie; munkee here. listen, do me a favor and drop lyricalmonkey off your friends list, maybe add this instead, eh?
gratzi.
thanks for the update… i will do that…
hey thanks, you’re a good pickle.
Puppeez!
I got my dog from a rescue where someone had dropped off his whole litter. I got to choose from ten different pups and he was only 10 weeks old when I got him. May I also HIGHLY recommend crate training. Gatsby is crate trained and loves his little room. Dogs are denning animals and when they have their own place, they aren’t as bored when they are alone so they don’t chew on things as much, bark during the day, and are much more easily housebroken.
Good luck!

Blake says to tell you that while he ruvs all animals very much, he is partial to beagles. Hehehe. I think all beagles must smoke the same crack, they all act crazy in the same way. But at least they ruv kitties. I want to get another one sometime, but I’m not sure now since I’m taking my other doggie spike, a big fluffy black mutt. So yeah, I like mutts too. I think getting a doggie from a shelter or pound is a good idea, but it didn’t work out for me last time.. just make sure they’re -totally honest- with you. Yay! I can’t wait to see a new doggie on camera!
Re: puppeeee
me, i’m partial to min. schnauzers, as if you could tell. Smart, sturdy, friendly, great with kids and most important intensly loyal. I’ll disagree with some people here and say go ahead and spend the money to get a dog from a “good” breeder. I first checked a couple dog shows to get the names of a few people. More than one person recommended a lady in OK. I found that the people at dog shows who where most helpful talked more about temperment and intelligence than physical traits. Muttly was only five hundred dollars because she had a small imperfection that would have cost her pionts, but her parents where real inteligent and not yappers. Which is exactly how Muttly is, (though after two breakins I kinda wish she would bark a little)
aaaaa, me thinks me went off on a little rant.
hehe
Pug’s are the best! I took the what breed of dog are you quiz I’m a pug!
The housemates on big brother got a pug this past Wednesday.. I hope to get a pug in the far off future. Then when I do get one is it going to be a boy, or girl pug?
Geee I wonder why Worlocks L.J. Icon is a pug?? π
hehe yea i told him i loved pugs and he started researching them and fell in love too π
i don’t care if it is a boy or a girl – whichever i fall in love with π
pugs
great breed of dog. just a thought… instead of a breeder, go to a shelter and rescue a pug.
Re: pugs
read up above
Re: pugs
Makes sense. Hopefully you can find a cute little pug pup who will love the kitteez. it’s so cool to watch young dogs and cats interact….i want a
female pug. i’d name her peg. a pug named peg, peg the pug……..BA
