sique

laying down under a heap of blankies helped a bit. i don’t feel like i am about to die anymore. i had to leave work early because i was getting so dizzy it felt like my chair was tipping over. the cramps were so bad that i had to throw out that underwear when i got home. too much information? sorry. it’s in my thoughts. i was shaking and couldn’t look at the computer screen. i had already been through the recommended daily dosage of advil. and in spite of it have a temp of 100 degrees (my normal temp is 97.5). ack! i feel like poop! i need to stay in bed but it is boring there. and i have to keep going to work even if it makes my fever bad because i have lots to do. driving home was very hard – i could barely concentrate enough. i was glad that i left early so i had fewer cars to deal with.

*thud* < -- sound of head hitting desk

i just want my babie to get home and fix me a big bowl of soup and crackers and orange juice. and i need big cuddles from him.

  2. me sick too…

    i don’t have cramps, but something is definately wrong with my stomach – it feels like an alien is about to tear out of it…i had to drive home from work too, and it was hell b/c i thought io was either going to pass out or throw up…i don’t need an accident right now!

    hope you (and me) feel better soon!

  3. Poor Stephanie

    Sorry you are not feeling well! I used to get that way too. I would feel so bad that I would just throw up. It finaly went away after I had my daughter… Hmm… after you and Dan have children maybe your tummy won’t hurt anymore…

  4. Advil

    Ignore the “recommended daily dosage” on the advil (or any other brand-name ibuprofen). As long as you’re not going to take a LOT (read: 3+ times normal maximum dose) for an extended period of time (5+ days), it’s OK to take more than the maximum listed. Just make sure you eat something before taking a bunch, as it will probably give you a very bad tummie ache on an empty stomach.

    The same applies to Tylenol, except that you do not need to eat anything first and you most likely won’t EVER get a tummie ache from it.

    I’m not sure about Aleve or any of the other pain medications.

    One thing to keep in mind with any of the above is that you should be careful if you’re taking anything else that screws around with your liver. Tylenol and Advil both have an effect on your liver’s ability to break stuff down. Tylenol & alcohol is a particularly nasty combination when done for extended periods of time, although I know it won’t be a problem in your case since you don’t drink ๐Ÿ™‚

    I obviously don’t get girlie cramps, but I do get nasty headaches due to occipital neuralgia not infrequently. Loading up on pain meds and getting as much sleep as possible has proven to be invaluable in reducing or ridding myself entirely of the pain.

    I hope you feel much, much better soon! {{{{hugs}}}}

    Sorry ur feeling so bad about your crampage.. have u ever thought of taking the birth control pill for them? I had really really had cramps I would pass out sometimes or get violently ill, my doctor said that I should try being on the pill for a while and now i have practically no cramps at all, if I do they are dull and short lived. Hope u feel better soon!
