Mommies’ Day
Stephanie,
You and I are in a similar boat — my mommy died last Christmas. I see Mothers’ Day as a time for me to recognize those women in my life who’ve taken the role of mommy, though. I give presents and cards and dinners to my friends’ mommies and to my papa. It’s kind of a nice thing, really. I hope that the sadness of this day for you does not overshadow the love that you and your mother shared.
Take care,
Heather
Amen to that….
Heather even acknowledged our father’s role as a mother these last few years by getting him a Mothers’ Day gift.
Now there’s somebody you can be proud to call your sister.
Mothers
Holidays can be for remeberance too. Part of you mother will always be part of you.

I don’t have a mommy, I lost her on July 8, 1992 after she had a year long bout with a brain tumor.
For a few years after that, I used to write a note to her and tie it to a helium balloon and hope that the note got to her
I still think about her everyday, maybe even more so as I grow older, I wonder what it would be like with her, if we would have been best of friends
People that knew my mom before her cancer say I look alot like her in the eyes and some of the facial expressions, and they think they’re looking at a ghost sometimes
