Our family room is all painted! We chose a color slightly darker than what I picked in my design plan, but I love it. It is very warm and cozy. Hopefully we will hear from Ikea about delivery of the couche/arm chair we ordered soon. They are red, soft, and slip-covered for easy cleaning.
I want to cover the walls with black & white photos – a mix of landscapes, architecture, and personal photos. I’ve added some that I really want to my wishlist if ou are in need of a gift idea. I’m not sure if the Escher drawing will go in that room or not – it may stand out since it isn’t a photo.
Last night, my friend Laura came over after she got off work. It was so good to see her again – especially after my crappy month. We stayed up too late decorating the Christmas tree and building one of the two side tables that will be in the family room. That was an adventure. Danny was out at a metal concert and had to stay at a friend’s house afterwards to be safe.
This morning, I had a warning notice on my car from the police to get my county sticker. Virginia is very strict about parking your car without the right county sticker. But, I have 60 days to get it and it’s only been 2.5 weeks. At this rate, I’ll start getting $100 tickets soon and have to go to court to protest them! We need to get those stickers a.s.a.p. I had seen a cop car on the corner last night at 12 am, but he didn’t get out – just shined a spotlight. The ticked was timed 2:30 am, so I guess he came back to see i our car was still there. Lame.
My doctor’s appointment went well. I was surprised to have my actual doctor walk in because they told me she was booked until January and wouldn’t set up an appointment with her. I wouldn’t be surprised if she saw my name and took the appointment – she is that nice. My test results came back yesterday and I am on the mend. I have to repeat the test in a week to make sure I am continuing to get back to normal. I feel fine at this point – just a little tired still, but that is to be expected when you are recovering from anything.
Yesterday morning I had to get up super early to drop Simba cat off at the vet o be groomed. I cam back home and worked from there until heading back out to meet a dog-walking customer’s new puppy. Way too cute! Her mom kept me a little long – I had to head back to the vet after that. I was late because I got lost and stuck in traffic. My navigation system thought I was about a 1/4 mile north of where I really was, so it kept thinking I was on the next road over and was giving me the wrong directions. I had to figure it out on my own until the satellite found me again.
Back to work!
The room looks fantastic! That color is so rich and yummy. It makes me want hot chocolate. 🙂
I’m adding you on Flickr, too, I hope you don’t mind.
