Being in a new house and needing to get so many things for it, I figured it would be a good time for a greedy Christmas/Housewarming wishlist. This is pretty much just for family, since I can usually count the number of people I get gifts from on one hand.

• Giftcards for Ikea – This is a pretty big one. For the first time, we have a dining room! But, we have no dining room furniture. We picked out what we want, now we just have to get it.
• Giftcards for Target – We picked out a media credenza and 2 side tables from their Uptown line that we need to get for our family room. We have absolutely no furniture for that room either, though couches have been ordered. We also need little utilitarian things like trash cans.
• Giftcards for Lowes or Home Depot – We need many light fixtures!The ones here are bad! Though, one of the ceiling fans did come with the bonus cord-pull in the shape of an angel teddy bear. *shudder*
• Giftcards for World Market – Always good for home decorstuff, since we love worldly items – especially asian. We are going to need wall art. We mostly had framed posters at the old place.

Nothing specifically for me on that list… I haven’t really though about that. We aren’t going to be doing much holiday shopping for each other this year. I’ll be putting the tree up once the new floors are done this week. I’m sure we’ll manage to have some gifts under it by Christmas. We have a hard time resisting shopping for each other.

We’ve been busy. Friday I went straight from work to the old house. We cleaned/packed-up any of our stuff that was in the way of the house getting cleaned (basically, anything not in the garage). Saturday we went there in the morning and were there most of the day. While Danny pressure-washed the back fence and steps, I patched holes in the rooms we had painted ourselves and did touch-up painting. We had a cleaning crew there all day doing the windows, bathrooms and kitchen. They also vacuumed the new carpet. The place looks brand new.

Saturday night, I finished taping the edges in our family room and we painted two of the walls. Sunday morning we did the rest. After that room, I taped the dining room. That took a while because of the chair rail and crown molding. So far we’ve done the primer. Once it is dry we will do the first coat of paint.

Tomorrow after work I have a follow-up doctor’s appointment to make sure I am recovering okay. Tuesday I have to get up ass-early and drive Simba to the vet. He will be getting groomed. I’ll come back to the house and work from there until late afternoon. Then, I’ll go visit a friend’s new Berner puppy. Puppies! I’ll go from there with Ivan to the vet, where we will be reunited with Simba for a join check-up. Busy busy.

Off I go to clean and paint more. The hardwood ppeople are coming tomorrow and we have stuff all over the floors.
