Here is a kinda “after” photo. Danny built his new grill after that and put it on the left side of the patio.
We broke in the grill tonight. Our friend Ivan, who got us a deal on the grill at Home Depot, came over with steaks for the boys, corn on the cob, asparagus, and garlic bread. We had a nice peaceful evening dining outside in the candlelight while the fireworks from the city fair changed the color of the sky from blue to green to red.
For the past year we’ve had a service, Doodie Calls, come clean up the girls’ poopies from the backyard every Tuesday. Our yard was a dirt/mub pit full of weeds that we had no desire to be out in. When we first took the girls out there after the landscapers left, India took her first poop on the grass and we looked at the poo, looked at each other, and decided ‘we’re gonna have to start picking up the poop.”
So now we have biodegradable poop bags and a little metal trash can out there. We are also hosing of the grass twice a day. Hopefully that will help the grass take hold (you can see the sod squares right now) and prevent urine burn.
Too cute… now you’ll be planting bulbs so that the garden will have color just come up at all different times of year.
And if they have them up there I highly suggest a humming bird feeder. They are the most entertaining things to watch in the morning and really bond with a particular house. Mine actually come up and look in the window when I forget to fill the feeder like they are saying, “Hey, get off your ass and boil us some sugar water!”
“Doodie Calls.” That freakin’ ROCKS. But what a shitty job. LOL!
