Hello! Remember me? I keep wanting to write here, but whenever my brain is free enough to do it, I am somewhere inconvenient like the car or the shower. Dang.

Hm, so what have I been up to? I might need a list…

1. My rash went away after I stopped drinking the fitness water with Splenda in it. So no more Splenda for me. Now I am just dealing with normal seasonal allergy rashes which are different (and itchier) and come and go daily. I hate grass pollen.
2. Last Tuesday, Simba went to the vet for his summer haircut. The vet normally sedates cats when they are shaving them down, but Simba has a heart murmur and has to avoid sedation whenever possible. I always manage to convince them to do it without it. While Simba hates to be brushed, he sure does love getting shaved. The technician who was with him that day fell in love with him. When I came to get him she carried him out snuggling him to show me how cute he looked and boast about how well he behaved. Now Little Man is cuddling me non-stop because he likes the way it feels to be pet after getting shaved.
3. Last Friday I had to cover for one of the evening daycare staff members at our new Maryland doggy daycare. I was with the dogs all evening (instead of the front desk) which was fun. I had about 22 dogs in the room with me. There are some pictures in my Moblog.
4. Last weekend we did yard work and home improvement stuff.

   On Saturday we went to Ikea for new backyard furniture. We are having our backyard landscaped today and our 7 year old crappy plastic and metal balcony set was ready for the trash. We found a cute wooden set (table, two chairs, and a bench) that was on sale. We built one of the chairs and a bench last night.

   After Ikea, we went to Lowes. We got plants and mulch so I could redo the front yard. We also got supplies to sand and refinish our dining table and the new chairs we got from Ikea. We also found a pretty Buddha statue for the backyard.

   Sunday, I weeded, tilled, planted, and mulched the front yard while Danny killed and ripped up the weeds that were taking over our backyard patio. No pictures of the front yard yet. here are some “before” pictures of our *cough* beautiful *cough* backyard. Last night we got home from work to find new plants in our backyard. Today I am watching the landscapers via webcam. Grass! Tree! Plants!

   This weekend we’ll go looking for backyard lighting and more accessories.

5. My baby girl, India, turned 5-years-old on Memorial Day! What??! 5?! When did that happen..? She got a new pink teddy bear as her present. Like she doesn’t get a new toy nearly every week… She’s already got another new toy since then, heh.
6. On Memorial Day we went to Harper’s Ferry with our friend’s and their daughter. We played old-fashioned car bingo on the way up. He had (a very slow) lunch in the little town and Danny fed Cheese-its to the geese. Then we went down to wade in the water. It was over 90° out so the water felt so nice.
7. Besides that, I’ve been doing a lot of freelance work and I am working to completely redo Quiz Meme – my silly quiz site. Not sure when the new home page will go live, but I’ve switched a few of the quizzes over to the new looks.

So that is my life lately. Mostly. We are probably going to go to our little city carnival/festival this weekend.

Because I haven’t done this in a while – make a request for a photo you’d like me to take during my daily life, and if I get enough requests, I’ll make a separate post with all the photos. Word.
