Simba had his lion clip at the vet on Wednesday. They were able to do it without the anesthesia. He was such a sweet boy for them that they wrote: “Simba was a joy to see today! He was great for the whole procedure.” Aw.
When I was paying, I asked the receptionist to give the technician who shaved him a tip. She got all flustered and said she had to go ask the vet admin if they were allowed to accept tips. I am used to tipping for grooming – especially if they go above and beyond the norm (which they did by doing his shaving without putting him under). She came back with the admin lady who said it was fine and that she would find out who took care of Simba. She thanked me for the thoughtfulness, which I thought was weird since a tip is the customer’s way of saying thank you. I said, “Well, I really appreciate you doing his lion’s cut without anesthesia. I know it is harder that way.” She replied “We appreciate you trusting us to do it.” I love my vet’s office. Everyone is so nice. The receptionist remembered she had taken a photo of India in her santa cape and got my email address to send it to me soon.

In other news, I am a bad bad mommy. I missed India’s birthday! It was May 29th. My baby girl is now 4 years old! I could say that I was distracted because I was working 7 days straight that week, but since it took me this long to remember, the truth is I just plain forgot. Bad bad Stephanie.
Luckily, India is a dog (code name: Big Brown Stupid) and doesn’t know how to read a calendar. So we will be celebrating her birthday this weekend. We must have presents and doggy cake!!

I am off tomorrow because I worked Sunday – Thursday. I am going to be cleaning all day. Super fun.
