stephanie is: sleepy…
as of the first week of april, i’ve been working at the doggy dayccare for 6 months. i had a quick review meeting and got a little raise. every little bit helps when you work hourly plus overtime. oh, and i get 5 vacation days to last me the next 12 months. yeah, not so many, but with an hourly job, you can always just ask for time off and not get paid. it is not my only income.
i have been trying out different shifts at work and have been settling in to a routine. i still have a hard time getting more than 4 hours of sleep a night. i just don’t sleep well during the night – despite the manual labor i now do. i try to take naps as soon as i get home from work, because i sleep best then. my schedule seems to be settling into this: sunday 8am-3pm; monday/tuesday 6:45am-3pm; wednesday 9am-5pm; thursday 1pm-11pm. the 9-5 shift is a new one they’ve added to have enough people for 3 playrooms… as we’ve been very busy. my thursday shift is the regular 1-8 night shift, followed by three hours of taking care of the dogs after close, getting them all tucked in for bed, and cleaning/locking up. it is a nice quiet time… the dogs have been playing since 7am with only 2 naps, so at 9pm when i took them in the lounge to sit on the futons and cuddle in front of the tv, even the dogs i am normally not a fan of were super sweet. puppy pile!
i really love my day job, but i’m really really tired. vacation will be very much appreciated, come may…
