crochet post ahead…

stephanie is: tired tired…
since the beginning of december i have made over a dozen super soft scarves. it started as me making myself one during breaks at work since it was the perfect size project to carry in my bag. (here it is before i added fringe… here it is after…) everyone at work loved it and i had 4 orders before i was even finished. i decided to make all my coworkers a scarf in the color of their choice as a christmas gift. i am on the last one. on girl bought one to give to her dad for christmas. i made a super long and warm scarf out of a dark dark grey yarn. it came out really nice. i am going to make another with the spare for my friend b-rock. her boyfriend admired it so she has put in an order for a dark green one for him for valentine’s day. sachi of yellowtoothpick sent me some goodies and yarn to make one for her.

i keep getting compliments on the scarves and am told i should start selling them (more actively at least). i’d really like to since i love how perfect a project they are to carry around. and i can’t keep buying infinite skeins of yarn on my own money. all those christmas gifts were plenty. luckily i already had about half the yarn i needed for those. my coworkers are also encouraging me to try making some doggie sweaters for our boutique. that could be fun! i am going to try out the one pattern i already have…

so, i will try to find time to make up a little page about my scarves (and perhaps different items as winter leaves us). they will all be custom unless i’ve already made them. i really want to make some with fancier yarns (that i can’t afford unless someone is buying the finished product and paying for materials). i do always choose the softest and warmest yarns that they sell in the non-specialty stores.

currently i have one scarf that was not made for anyone – i just liked the yarn. it is made of a chunky, soft yarn in a light navy blue, with patches of gold, wine, and green mixed in. the colors remind me of a sand painting. it is 58″ long – 68″ if you count the fringe on each end. it is close to a half inch in thickness and 5″ wide. super warm! it can be yours for $20 (shipping included in the continental u.s. – price based on the cost of supplies and time taken to make it). it will go to the first interest person to email me at [email protected]. i’d prefer to take payment via paypal, but if you want to do check you’ll just have to wait till it gets here and is deposited. if no one is interested, i will just use it myself or give it as a gift. it is really lovely.
