stephanie is: tired and headachey…
worked today, as i do almost every sunday (not next week though). i brought india with me since all the holiday boarding madness is finally over. i dressed her up all work in my sweat shirt because it was 7° outside. when my car finally got warm on the toll-road, she fell asleep because she was so snug.
i started out in the lounge for the first two hours that we had the dogs up. i had india in there. she had a lot of fun playing with one of my boyfriends, bo-jet. he rarely plays with other dogs. he likes to chill and visit with the humans. she also played with morgan the weimaraner and lexy the visla.
when i switched to the gym for my last 3 hours, i left inda in the lounge. she is happier there, and i want her to get less attached to me. i brought the radio from the small playroom into the gym so i could listen to the classic rock station while i cleaned. i had tried calling to make a request several times over the past couple weeks but always got a busy signal. it seemed weird that it would be busy on a sunday morning. once i added a 1 in front of the number it worked. with our old cell carrier i didn’t need to do that. doh. it went right through and i had a nice little conversation with the dj. he was very much using his dj voice so i tried to talk clearly and be interesting so that it could be used on air. about an hour later he played an edited version on air. the shortened version went like this:
me: can you play so led zeppelin for me and the dogs? i work at a dog daycare… (bad grammar, i know)
dj: so is there any snipping or grooming going on?
me: no, not right now…
dj: what is your name?
me: stephanie.
dj: and what led zeppelin would you like to hear?
me: surprise me!
dj (saying stuff he adding later): okay stephanie, here is “whole lotta love” for you and the dogs. oh, and say ‘hi’ to fenway for me… speak, boy! speak!
when he was recapping the block of songs later, he called my song “..and a led zeppelin surprise for stephanie and the dogs…” aw.. i feel special! fenway is actually a girl. she barked during our conversation and he asked her name. i had thought she was a boy based on her name until i gave her a reach-around to check.
when i was close to getting the gym clean my coworker sent india in to me, saying she missed me. i had most of the doors open around the daycare since i was dragging mop buckets around and crystal was bring dogs back and forth from the bath area. but india was only interested in being my little shadow.
i put her sweatshirt back on her before we headed home. we made a stop at petco. i liketo take her there because she is so timid in stores and i want her to be more socialized in those kinds of situations. it is also a good place to work on her commands since there are many distractions. most people said she was cute in her sweatshirt. one guy told his dogs that india was wearing a “funny sweater”. in line, the twatwaffle behind me said to india “you look warm… warm but ugly.” bitch. she was holding a case of cat food and scooting away from india and another dog in line (both dogs were just sitting looking elsewhere) so i don’t think it was possible for her to think a dog is cute.
i ate a quickie lunch when i got home and then passed out for a nap. i was so beat. i just ate a frozen dinner and the last slice of my pie. now it is time to go shower, start more laundry, wait for my hair to dry, and get more sleep.
