still a little tired…
i hope everyone had a nice day – whether you celebrate christmas or not!
christmas eve was a long day for me. i woke up for work at 5:30am. danny had the night off so he was home. he wanted to go get pancakes with me but i had no time. i got to work at 7am. there were only two other girls and myself to wake up, take out, and feed the 60 dogs that were there so far (20 were arriving that day). it was quite a process but we got it all done. one girl finished making the breakfasts) that the night people had started) while myself and another girl took care of the dogs. we put away all the beds and put their collars on, then took them out to poo in two groups, and finally got them all crated again so they could be served their breakfasts.
at 10 we had them in the playrooms. we had planned to rotate who was in each room every hour, but me and the girl who started in the big room decided we were fine in the big room and just stayed there till 3pm when the evening shift arrived. i got out of there at around 3:45pm once they were settled in and had gotten the names of the dogs they didn’t know from me.
danny had asked me via text message to stop by our p.o. box on the way home, but they were closed (i can’t get packages when they are closed). i picked up a little hostess gift for the friend whose house i was thinking of visiting that night. i also bought some christmas cookies (since i am still too germy to bake my own). i got home around 5pm and finished eating my lunch (that i had started eating in the car on the way home from work). i was sooo tired and crawled into bed for a nap around 6pm. i had planned to catch a ride to the get-together that night with moose since he now lives alot closer to me. but he called and said he had already been there a while. it was 8pm when i awoke and i didn’t want him to have to drive all the way our here and back just for me, so i had to skip it.
i ended up riding to danny’s work with him. i sat and chatted with him and his coworkers while winding yarn into balls. around 4am i was super tired and danny took me home. we opened our gifts before he went back to finish his work shift. i got to sleep around 6am.
we didn’t do a big christmas this year, but i liked the gifts i got. china got me a 365 days of puppies calendar. india got me a toys’r’us dog breed stuffed animal (i collect them… i now have the boxer, rottiweiler, german shepard, shar pei, and pug). danny got me a new printer to replace my dying one and 4 satin g-strings. i got the animals toys and treats. i gave danny two shirts and i pocket tool/knife/led flashlight thing.
my one goal for today (since it is a bonus day off for me this week) was to sleep the entire time. i got up once at noon to pee, then was up for a little over an hour at 4pm to take the dogs out and feed them, and to eat some yogurt and fruit. i think we got up for good at 8pm. so i got about 12 hours. it was sooo nice after a month straight of sleeping only 3 to 4 hours a night. i had some bad dreams and apparently kneed danny hard in the ass (oops) but at least i didn’t cough too much after the nyquil wore off.
we had christmas dinner at denny’s because we need groceries badly and nothing else was open. the service was awful. we were seated right away but it was 15 minutes before we even got menus. my food was good – grilled cheese sammich, seasoned fries, and hot apple pie.
