worn out…
holy crap the dogs were psycho today! i was supposed to be in the big room for half of the day and the lounge the other half, but the dogs were too naughty so i got stuck in the big room the whole day with all the little terrors. i filled out 3 ‘incident’ reports and they were filling out more when i left. there were a lot of our more trying dogs there today and everyone was crazy hyper. had one fight while i was alone (my partner was filling in outside for a minute while the outside girl when pee). i shoved a chair between them and yelled real loud so crystal would know to come in and help. she leap up the loading dock and was in there to grab one of the dogs as soon as i had space between them. amazingly no one/dog was injured with all the fights and craziness.
i am tired and cranky and have a headache though. everyone felt bad that i got stuck there so long. oh, and while picking up lunches i had to clean up 6 poop bags worth of vomit. i wouldn’t let jessica see it because she gags really easily and i didn’t want her to barf too. i just sent her away and closed the door while i cleaned it. but i got chocolate cake afterwards because it was the groomer’s birthday, yum.
i am off tomorrow and work sunday. i love sundays. we only have the dogs that are boarding. we split them into two groups and becca and i spend half the morning with one and half with the other. they are pretty relaxed most of the day since it is more tiring for dogs to be boarders. they don’t go down for nap till 2pm then we clean and leave at 3pm. i am bringing dia since she can stay with me the whole time (except maybe if i have to do bathes when i first get there). she is still too weary of everything to be okay without me in the room. she has been begging to go all week though.
on monday i work til 3pm and then have to go home, shower/change, and be back at work at 6pm for a doggie fashion show and fundraiser.
i was off the day they had their meeting about it, but in today’s meeting they told me what i needed to wear and gave me my assignment. i’ll be doing still photos (someone else is doing video). i’d love to get my new camera tomorrow so i’m not using my crappy old one, but the check i was waiting on is not here yet. don’t know if we can swing it on credit since we just bought a plane ticket for me (danny’s was free) for our december mini escape. hrm.
i need to shower now so i will be free to answer the door for trick-or-treaters. i only got 2 of three pumpkins carved. maybe i can do one really fast after i shower. i scheduled a halloween cam show for tonight but the time is subject to change as i don’t know what is going on tonight.
