groggy…
ahhh busy busy busy. so this week is my first week of full-time work at the doggie day care. then when i get home i have been trying to do as much cleaning as i can before bed. bed needs to be pretty early since i wake up not long after 5am.
i was up too later (am) last night because when i went up to do the litterboxes (2 cat and 1 for minibun) and bunny’s hutch (i can’t get her box trained) i saw that she had been sitting on top of her wooden house again. when she finds flat surfaces that aren’t litter covered she sits in her own poo till it is caked on her bun. not a bright one… i had already switched from a wire-floor hutch (that she’d poo the holes closed of and have the same problem) to one with a regular floor and recycled paper litter out. that was helping till she realized that she had plenty of head room to get on to of her house. so i spent near and hourslowling clipping the hairs that were holding the poo-ball on to her bum. delecate work… and though she loves me, she wasn’t holding still very well. but her bum is all clean now, the litter boxes are clean, the garbage is out, the office is vacuumed, and i am showered (all before bed). oh and i baked cupcakes, too.
i have 20 minutes to pack my lunch and go. i will try to write a nicer entry tonight, but i’ll probably be doing more cleaning. we have a house-guest coming friday while i am at work.
some things about me first coule days there…
- i get there before sunrise
- i have a pocket full of poo-scoop bags all day
- i am scheduled for the big dog room all week
- it is totally like a kids’ day care but with dogs instead.
- i know the names of about 30 dogs. the labs hare harder to tell apart
- there has been 40 dogs in the big room by nap time both days.
- nap time is 12-2 and you go find out what your daily janitorial chore is after putting the dogs to bed. you can do you chore at any time in those two hours. the rest is for lunch and meeting with the next shift who is just arriving.
- i work 5 hours before lunch, and one hour after.
- it is lots of fun being a puppy referee!
i have to go pack my lunch an gooo. it keeps surprising me that it only takes 15-20 minutes to get there via the toll road. it has been foggy as shit at 6:20am though…
