getting tired…
i’ve been back on a night schedule with danny since he got back into his work week. i think he works trough tuesday night… not sure. i will just be doing the bit of freelance i have left, any new projects i line up, LOTS of site work, and normal chore stuff. and of course i am waiting to hear about the job i interviewed for and from any of the other jobs i’ve applied for. full-time job = more money = bill paid = happy dance.
yesterday (MY yesterday. i couldn’t tell you when that actually was) after i sent off some freelance work to a client, i baked up a batch of brownies as requested by danny. (i like to bake them in mini-muffin pans because i hate cutting brownies.) they were ready to deliver around 3am.
since i had to stop by the store on my way (for toothpaste and bunny chow) and his work shift was slammed with new server builds, he had me pick up ‘lunch’ for everyone. being a non-meateater, i wandered around the deli department for a few minutes trying to get enough cell signal to ask if “cold turkey breast” sandwiches counted as ‘turkey’. (yes, it said turkey in the name, but i know nothing of meat and get paranoid that i am buying something strange… i am a dork.) i got myself a garden salad and danny some macaroni and cheese.
when i got there he gave his shift a break and we all ate our lunches. (is it lunch if it is at 4am?) danny let me hang out with them while they got back to work. i got really tired at 6am (probably from just sitting around watching… i need to always be doing something to stay awake) so i drove home.
danny has had to work late so i’ve been asleep already when he has been getting to bed. but it is so nice to sleep next to him. it sucked to be on a day schedule for a while when he was on nights. it is hard to sleep without him beside me.
i baked again tonight. i was cleaning up the kitchen and moving my plants around. i bumped into the banana rack and the nanas were so ripe one fell off it’s stem. so of course i had to make some banana bread. mmm it is good.
i had to move my jalapeño plant to the floor because it is getting too huge for the counter. hopefully the animals won’t ram into it. the most the cats ever did while it was on the counter was dip their paws into the dirt. strange little cats. i have three jalapeños growing so far. i do need to get a dowel to tie the plant to… i am using a paintbrush right now. oops.
there are over 20,000 images in my database now! still have a lot more to add, but i just wrote a script to help me add them in big clumps. i still will have to add keywords for many of the images individually… that is something that just can’t be automated. if you have any feature requests for my gallery, let me know.
i am getting tired, but i don’t want to get to bed before danny gets home yet again. seems like he may be working late again though. some days are just really lonely. i guess switching back to working in an office environment would fix that… what do you do when you are lonely and there is no one around (or awake)?
what are your weekend plans? i don’t have any – danny will be working so there isn’t really anything to distinguish it from any other day.
