tired…
the weather was nice for the drive down. we left the house at 9:45am. around 1pm we stopped for a pee break at a taco bell. we got to the beach around 2pm and checked in. the rate posted in our room is double what we are paying, sheesh. we walked around for a while till it started pooooouuuurrrring. rain rain rain rain rain. we got sand or something in our shoes and it hurt. i now have blisters all over my feet where the straps were.
we are back in the hotel room watching saturday night fever. it sounds like the rain has at least eased up. hopefully we can go walk to some dinner soon before i fall asleep (been up since 5am). they have internet access here but it is a little special. we let the dhcp try about 30 ips that were all taken before danny gave up and forced one. randomly the isp’s website comes up instead of the page you want. i can’t run a cam because i am behind a strange firewall.
we definitely like the outer banks more than virginia beach, but hopefully the sun will come out so we can enjoy our stay here. i wasn’t sure if i had been here on a band competition trip in high school – when we walked by a hotel i knew… i recognized it from when we stayed there. it looked smaller than i remembered. all we had done on that trip was a dinner cruise and a trip to busch gardens. i’m not sure what we are doing tomorrow (my birthday). it depends on the weather i guess… we do want to go to the aquarium.
