stephanie is: grrr…
amazon.com can go suck a nut. really. they just ate $40 of my money.
i’ve had $40 in credit there for a while and danny asked if he could get a computer game with it (his work shift is slow). i said yes, if i could get the book i wanted too. he had already put the game in his shopping cart and chosen normal shipping. when we added the book it went a dollar over the gift certificate balance. we needed to get to the shipment screen to change it to super saver shipping. they would not let us get past the credit card page for that stupid $1 balance. so i give danny my paypal card thinking at the worst i’ll be charged a dollar. we get through, change to free shipping, and approve. the order went through saying it was paid with gift certificate and credit card.
so a couple days later i check my paypal balance to see it $40 less than it should be. amazon had charged the full order to my credit card! (thankfully i had had $11 over whati paid for danny’s birthday present or else that would have been declined.) the order status still said (and STILL says) payment by credit card and gift certificate. i checked my g.c. balance – still fucking $40. ahejkfkwefawe. i emailed them about it and they just said i was shit out of luck.
they wrote“In the case where your gift certificate funds are not sufficient to cover the entire order, you will be prompted to choose the credit card you wish to use to pay for the balance of the order.” duh. so why was i charged fully to my credit card instead of just the “balance of the order”??!? gaah.
so i just clicked the link that said they did not help me with their email. my second feedback email is more of a nastygram, ending on how their stupid gift certificate balance does me no good now that they’ve taken money that was intending for more important things like groceries and bills. i’ve always been happy with them before, but i am not so pleased right now.
