stephanie is: back…
we are back. danny is upstairs on drugs. everything went well, andhe now has 7 less teeth.
we got there at 10am and waited about 10 minutes before the assistant called danny and “his friend” back. danny laughed and said i was his wife. the surgeon went over things in an exam room with us and i tried to comfort danny, who is very nervous at anything with dentists and needles. my allergy nose spray makes odors 10x as strong as normal to me, and the dentist smell was making me want to barf. i watched the surgeon check the x-ray several times and write a note so he’d take out the right teeth. he called me danny’s girlfriend. i guess we seem real young. the assistant asked “no kids yet?” in a tone that implied it was inevitable that we’d have some. (later i heard her going on and on about her delivery including details about diarrea and cramping. mm, thanks) when i said “no” she asked “newlyweds?” as though that would explain why.
at 10:30am they put me back in the waiting room. i sat and crocheted, which is a good thing to do with nervous energy. at 10:52am the surgeon came out with two thumbs up. he explained about gauze and oozing… fun stuff like that. he said they were moving him to a recovery room.
they got me a few minutes later and danny was laying on a cot in a nook off the hall. i felt terribly useless because i couldn’t understand him at all. i normally do a lot of lip reading if there is any sort of background noise (and they were very chatty there). i had him try writing but they had him super duper drugged up so that wasn’t much help:
(“the plus side is they are pretty fucked up and numb” and “my froat isfull of blood”)
every female in the office stopped in to our nook to talk about my hair. they seemed more interested in that then the patient. the assistant was rather rough when she changed his gauze. they took nearly $400 of our money and sent us off. hopefully the other $1k+ will be covered by insurance like she guessed. who knows though.. with our luck…
thank you to whoever sent the text message. i have no idea who it was though, as livejournal doesn’t send the name.
