sore…
i woke up sore from shoveling the sidewalk. and, of course, you couldn’t even tell i had thanks to the wind tunnel that is our street. there is snow EVERYWHERE. from 15″ to 4′ depending on the way it drifted. our driveway had about 2′ of snow – even in the path i had shoveled (A). the back steps were like a ski slope (B). Even no, you can’t really tell where the streets are supposed to be in our neighborhood, except for the track from one brave neighbor with a big truck. I think someone hit our street sign… (C,D) i doubt they will plow any time soon. we seem to be last on the list.

i took the dogs out to play and they had Big Fun running around. there were no cars so i let them off their leashes (E,F), but i took them one at a time since china has the habit of taking off into the sunset and ignoring orders. didi is a big show-off and kept galloping by the neighbors as they shoveled. It was rather deep for them in spots… see didi’s head by the light post (G)? india caused a cave-in on the back steps (H) so i spent some time shoveling out a path the best i could with my wimpy sore arms.

our deck furnature is more than half-covered in snow (I,J). we had lots of fun (K,L), but i think we are all ready for the snow to go away now.

i was supposed to go in to the office, but that isn’t happening obviously. they are closed till at least wednesday at noon. i am expecting a call soon to go over some edits i need to do for tomorrow morning. i also was supposed to have a meeting in d.c. tomorrow but if my manager has any doubts, i’ll tell her tomorrow i am still quite snowed in.
