mmm. the house smells like fresh baked bread… because i just baked fresh bread! it is my first time baking bread from scratch (if you don’t count the time in 2nd grade we had a bread-baking assembly). i made three loaves of honey wheat. i haven’t tried it yet but it looks and smells wonderful. we shall try it out with our tofu pot pies tonight. the third loaf is finishing up baking right now.

my dough after doubling in size during the first rise.

in the pans before the second rise. i need to work on shaping…

one of the loaves ready for the oven after riseing.

baking. mm smells good!

finished loaf with a light butter glaze to keep the crust soft.

mmm, tastes good! who wants a slice?

… Mmmh, it looks yummy. 🙂
Does the name honey wheat mean that there is honey in the dough? Silly question, but here in Germany we have different breads.
    *gets now seriously hungry* 😀

  2. Gah! Looks good as dough and as a fully baked loaf!

    *want* *to* *smell* *fresh* *bread*

    Taste, too, of course!

    I bet you’re addicted now. hehe. 😛
