  1. Does Anaprox-DS not help you? That’s pretty heavy duty stuff. Ginger tea is also supposed to help.

Otherwise, unless you guys are planning to have kids soon, there’s always the Depo shot. You could go that route and just stop having this problem all together!

I hope you feel better soon.

    • i’ve never heard of anaprox… i don’t have a doctor right now.

i don’t like the idea of any hormone birth control… one day i may like to get fixed though and not have to worry about it at all…

      • Anaprox is the prescription form of Aleve. Anaprox-DS is the double strength version of Anaprox (hence the “DS”). I’m sure they have a generic out for it by now, but I don’t know what the name of it is. Your local pharmacy could tell you.

I’d give the last GYN you went to a call and see if they’ll call you in a prescription for it (and don’t forget to check to see if there is a generic for it first). Usually if you call their nurseline they’ll just call something in for you, even if you don’t have insurance. If it’s going to be too expensive, see if your GYN/the nurse will give you some samples to get you through for a couple of months. You only have to take them twice a day, so the samples you get should last you a while.

        • However…

If you want to go the cheapest route (i.e. OTC stuff from Walmart), try 4 extra strength generic Tylenol every 6 hours until the pain goes away. Take ginger capsules when you feel nauseous, and try to keep your body temp as cool as possible. When your temp rises it can bring on the nausea.

i went with tylonol this time and i think that is what started me feeling so barfy… normally i do ibprofin but we ran out and it was christmas. i’ve never heard of ginger pills. i shall look out for them.

            thanks!

    • Anaprox! I love the stuff. I used to be in bed for 2 days (throwing up, etc) every month when I was younger until my doctor prescribed it years ago when it was still experimental. It’s the best stuff ever! I wouldn’t be without it!

Definitely worth a look into. Hope you’re feeling better.
