stephanie is: confused…
so i haven’t been to a salon since the early 90’s… can anyone give me a good range of what hair cuts cost. i probably need to go to someone who i can sit and consult with for a few minutes and decide what is best. but i don’t know how much is too much. here is what i found on a local salon/dayspa’s website:
Haircut & Style
w/Junior Stylist – *from $35
w/Senior Stylist – *from $40-$50
w/Educational Director – *from $70
is this right? and i am guessing the chain places are about $20ish, but i don’t know? help!
Aggh, pay the money… I went to Super cuts today just for a trim, my hair is now all uneven. *so pissed*
I’d say about 35 to 45 is reasonable.
It should include a shampooing though.
the expensive haircuts and dyes I have had have occasionally been lousy… I havent really noticed a difference between a Supercut and a more Xpensive salon… I often end up finding mistakes and giving myself a trim to even the ends up when I get home…I also havent had much luck with dye jobs at salons… dying my hair at home works better.
That’s about right for a decent place. I might suggest paying the small extra for the senior stylist if you aren’t 100% sure what you want. I’ve learned the hard way that if you can’t tell them exactly, or show them a picture, you may not get what you are after.
–says the girl who’s last haircut left her in tears.
(that wasn’t meant to be depressing, geez sorry it came out that way!! eep!)
yes, i do plan to ask for someone senior. hopefully i can find someplace that can fit me in so i can stop wearing my hair back all the time to hide it.
blah blah stomp pout! don’t wanna!
hehe
i get mine cut every 6 month for like 11$, 15 if i get it washed too.. but im too cheap for the extra 4$ most of the time :p….but of course, thats ALL i get done.. she does the same thing everytime, just layers it a bit and takes the dead-ends off..
this is totally unrelated, but do ur cats and dogs get along?
this doesn’t have anything to do with your post, but i never noticed that in that user pic, just your face changed, not the rest of the picture! it’s weird heh..
i’m tired so i was just sitting here staring at my friends list
I think my stylist charges $35. I don’t know what her title is, but she’s much more experienced than a Junior Stylist. She has been in the business for about 15 years, and she’s very good.
Keep in mind this is from a guy that only gets his hair cut once every 6 months or a year, and even then threatens the stylist with death if they cut more than just the dead ends off.
Seems like cutting it will be kinda traumatic for you. How about one big braid in the center back, and half way down, where the short parts are and would tend to stick out of the braid a bit, you
get one of those pony tail wraps. Like a peice of cloth about 4 inches or so that wraps around the braid and ties somehow with cord. Would give the short parts time to grow in and would look
cute. I see lots of different styles at faires and stuff, but you can make different wraps yourself in different fabrics and stuff…
I have actually kinda wanted to get one myself. I really liked the one (no laughing) that Worf wore in the last season of STTNG. Was just a brown suede peice that he had wrapped or laced with
leather cord. Can’t seem to find any good ones on the web, but this page http://www.hognutz.com/shop/hairglove/ has some simple/crappy ones that don’t tie or lace, but will give you the idea. Even with really long hair, I like the shorter ones like 4″ or less, over the long ones, and that could hide the imperfections in the braid. Certainly add a few minutes to the daily hair prep, but personally chopping my hair would be my last resort.
Your particular hairstyle looks like a very very basic cut that you could get at Supercuts for cheap.
I can cut my own hair, although I used to have it done professionally. Over the course of a couple years I got quite decent at cutting my own hair.. I can even do short haircuts, layered and tapered cuts and use thinning shears. I learned to do hair myself after having a few really awful professional cuts and dye jobs….
