my dad sent me a quick panorama he made of his livingroom. it is the house i grew up in. gotta love the shag carpeting, hehe! it was warm on the feet but i tended to loose pushpins and beads in it. ouch!

i’m beginning to think more and more that living far from my family is more harmful than i ever thought it would be.
you’re lucky in that aspect.
sometimes i am sad that i am as far away as i am… my brother lives walking distance from my dad and i am a 45 minute drive…
You’re sad that you live 45 minutes away? My parents live more than 3000 miles away.
I left home when I was 22, and not counting the tie I had to go home for a couple of years, I’ve never lived closer than 1000 miles from home.
(Folks live in Tampa,FL – I’ve lived in Philadelphia, San Diego, Honolulu, San Francisco, and now, Washington DC)
In fact, living here in DC has been the closest I’ve ever lived to my folks. My other siblings live in relative proximity from them…a mere 5 min. drive.
I think it’s so sweet that you have such a close relationship with your Daddy. Daddy’s rock. heheh
There’s an article about your Grandpa in a magazine?!?!

Oh wow. That was so awesome Stephanie. I bet you’re so proud of that!!!
You’re Grandpa was a very handsome man!!!
My Grandpa fought in WWII he wouldn’t talk about it much. But we always freaked out when he pulled out things that he stole off of the men that he killed. Foreign money with blood stains on it, knives, stuff like that. Kind of disturbing. It bothered him too. They turn them into killing machines.
Wow!
Your Dad was a hero and I give him big props! You seem very proud of him.My Grandpa was a Sea bee in World War 2. He was also a great man.Irish catholic, 12 kids and funny!he passed last summer and I miss him so much. I also have a relly good relationship with my Father. Dads are great! Thanx for the post.
