  1. awww! Feel better sweetie! =(
Just lay down, take something for your headache, and put a cool cloth on your forhead….it will make you feel better! Trust me!

  2. Uh oh, you said the magic two words… “ranch dressing”! A group from work went to the lunch buffet at Pizza Hut a few years ago. Every single one of them who had salad with ranch dressing ended up with food poisoning. None of us have touched the ranch dressing there since.

Your symptoms do sound remotely similar to salmonella…

Drink lots and lots of fluids and get lots of sleeeeeeeeeeep! Hope ya feel better soon πŸ™

    • Just curious….are you kidding?

Salmonella bacteria are very hardy and can grow in just about anything. It can be found in many many places. The chances are excellent that there was some kind cross contamination though. (Dirty hands, dirty utensils or maybe even improper refrigeration.) I see it all of the time – I am a Microbiologist. πŸ™‚

        • It depends on a number of factors – how the raw ingredients were stored and cleaned before preparation, whether or not they were cooked at the proper temperature, the hygiene/sanitation of the help, and the heating and chilling temperatures at the buffet/salad bar itself.

I tend to agree with your statement. I also avoid buffets and salad bars unless they are real hot or real cold (respectively). (Most of them seem kind of tepid.) When the buffet is not hot enough or cold enough it is called an INCUBATOR.
But a super cold salad bar doesn’t guarantee that the thousand island dressing didn’t sit on the counter for 3 hours at room temp after being stirred with the spoon that sat in the puddle of raw chicken juice. Even the chilly salad bar can’t help it or you. Yuck.
