zoooom! rushing to get stuff done today. is signing for her new house today (yea!) and she is dropping her kidlet off with me at 2pm so i need today’s stuff done by then. danny’s uncle is coming over around dinnertime and staying the night so i need to have the house clean. all that is left is several loads of laundry, hiding my s-video cable on the stairway, and vaccuuming two floors. i hope. i am also trying to take care of emails, get as much done on my contract work as i can, help danny with serve-you, and go through a 0.8 gig of cam pics. ooof. help please!

Cute shoes, but … (this is kind of random) pay attention where you’re stepping in those. I was wearing a pair and twisted my ankle when I stepped off a curb, and my heel came off the shoe but the rest stayed on, so I put all my weight down on the side of my foot and broke it. The doctor said I was the second person he’d seen this month with that kind of injury. So watch out for the shoes! 🙂 But you’re probably not a moron like I am … most people don’t have walking accidents.
When platform shoes became popular again there was a newspaper article on how many people get foot injuries from them. Do we listen? No! Silly girls! I’m so clumsy I’m suprised I haven’t had a problem yet.
There was a woman in Japan (where, apparently, platform shoes are very big–big as in tall and big as in popular) who fell while wearing her shoes and died the next day of a skull fracture from the fall. Not very common, I’d think, but after being on crutches myself for three weeks, I’ve decide to go for what my mom would call “sensible shoes.” 🙂

I’ve sprained my ankle in sensible shoes before, but not in platforms. Go figure!

I last sprained my ankle at the train station in Providence, and I blame both the city and Amtrak.
How’s this for justified paranoia? I tore a ligament in my ankle walking in a pair of platform shoes once. They were just normal shoes that happened to have platforms. My ankle turned a certain way and then I fell down screaming in pain.
